How to put it? It’s a temple. Like many others in bkk. But the saturation of tourists for square centimeter is too much. The entry is not cheap for getting to step around in line with millions of Thai and non Thai tourists taking photos in rented costumes.. not to my liking.

Wat Arun vibes harder. Of all the temples in Bangkok, Wat Arun, in my opinion, is the most spectacular, spiritual, and special. The riverside setting certainly adds to the atmosphere, but the magnificent spires, intricate detail of the porcelain shards, and big steps make a deep impression during and post visit. It is also incredibly photogenic and 5-630 pm is the best time to visit. While it’s It’s little strange seeing the many tourists hiring Thai costumes for photo shoots, it adds to the atmosphere, and visitors love the cosplay opportunity.

Rode the 5 Baht ferry over from across the river. The entire temple grounds are impressive beyond words, more so than I would have thought just from looking at pictures. Admission was 200 Baht. Get there very early to beat the crowds. Even on a weekday by 1030am it was crowded.

Wat Arun, or the Temple of Dawn, is absolutely stunning! The temple’s tall spires and intricate details make it feel like stepping back in time. Many people come here dressed in traditional Thai costumes to take beautiful photos. You’ll need to take a ferry to get there, which costs just 5 baht each way and costs 200 baht to get in. The climb up the temple is steep, but the views of the Chao Phraya River from the top are worth it. Definitely a must-visit in Bangkok!

The temple is picturesque. It's covered in colored tile like material. Be careful, especially for the elderly and kids,  because some of the stairs are steep and not accompanied with railings. Not too crowded and not as expensive as the grand palace. Do visit in the morning when the weather is nice and not too hot. If you visit at noon, it would be scorching hot.
