the museum's gorgeous collection, the beauty of the sculptures and the years they were made (2-4, 6-7 centuries BC) are very striking. the jewelry is also amazing. I recommend visiting despite the fact that two pavilions are closed for restoration.

A wonderful museum. Ear the tip of the golden horn with some truly gorgeous artifacts. The Alexander tomb was the highlight for me... What an amazing piece of art. The murals are also fantastic and give a wonderful sense of ancient Roman life covering several social groups. It's a must visit for any lover of antiquity.

Excellent museum. The internet says you need about 2 hours here, but this place is too big! If you are an avid reader or a fan of history, it is easy to stay here for 3 or 4 hours.

My favorite collections were the Coin Room, the interactive excavation activities, and the exhibit on the ancient city of Troy.

There’s also a free audio guide at the entrance that you can with a QR code/app.
This is a great place for people of all ages. Highly recommend!

Super museum let down a little by limited access. Always buy your €15 ticket on-line to avoid the more expensive queue.

The hall showing the Troy excavations and the science behind archaeology was brilliant. There are a lot of pristine statues, coins, crowns and the spectacular Sarcophagus displays showing how the Turkish teams extracted them are amazing.

Outside the building the columns and statues are not all accessible due to building work, a bit more work to improve access here would be good. The Ottoman building with blue tiles is closed.

1) Before everything, they scam you with ticket prices: it’s written €15 but then they say you can’t buy a ticket without an audio guide, so the final price is about €24. By the way, to use the audio guide you have to download a mobile app but there is no wifi;

2) Half of the museum, if not more, is closed - one wing is closed without explanation, the mosque is currently closed for renovation, and another building is also closed;

3) Many exhibits including statues and sarcophagus are kept outside and you can see how they are destroyed by wind, rain and sun, it's just awful. I think that if it weren't for the money from tourists, all the historical heritage would have been thrown into the trash;

4) It was extremely hot inside and no air to breathe, especially upstairs, I think the air conditioning wasn’t working. You have a good chance of passing out if you are sensitive;
