Bought tickets in advance...they sell out most days. Lots of steps up and down on spiral stairs! Some LOW ceilings for tall people. Husband is 6' and had to walk bent over for a stretch!Great experience, I learned more than I thought I would! Go! You'll enjoy it.

Definitely a very unique experience and chance to learn a unique history but the website said to expect 1-1.5 hours inside but it was a lot shorter than expected. Even with the audio guide and stopping to take some photos of the bones, we did the whole thing in 30 min. Also the tickets are quite pricey for what it is I feel. And you have to buy tickets online and the tickets are only released 1 week in advance from the date you want to go.

The Paris Catacombs are a unique place with a mystical atmosphere. Narrow tunnels, walls lined with bones, and dim lighting create a truly historic feel. I recommend getting an audio guide and booking tickets in advance. Be prepared for a steep descent of around 130 steps and a climb back up at the end. Not for the claustrophobic, but an unforgettable experience!

Amazing history!
Very sad looking at most of these skulls, considering the size... looks like many children.
They provided a small recording device (kind of like a smart phone) that gives information on the area's you walk through.
I'm shocked you can walk through it as you do, but I'm sure there are plenty of cameras to keep people from taking things, but maybe people in general don't want to desecrate the dead.
There's graffiti throughout, but luckily, no one tagged the bones.
If you get there early, they will advise you to wait elsewhere (can only arrive 5 minutes early).
It's definitely a cool thing to check out if you're visiting!

An amazing place with a dark history. The reasons for the creation of the catacombs is fascinating. The audio guide is very good and included in the price of the ticket. You can bring your own headphone to plug in but only USB C plugs. There are a lot os stairs at each end of the tour and a very long walk in small passageways at the start. There is a gift shop and toilets when you leave the tour. Be sure to book as it is sold out most days. A fascinating and somber tour.
