We arrived on a Sunday night in November and were disappointed to find the restaurant was shut.  However, I suspect that is not unusual in the South of France.  The lodge rooms are well-designed, with a great view.  The restaurant promises more than it delivers.  We felt the choice could be broader at breakfast in particular.  The staff were friendly.

The main problem with this place was the mosquitoes. They were HORRIBLE. No one could sleep due to the mosquitoes in the room; my room (20) in particular was not as bad, but it's because of the copious bug spray that was there when I arrived. It made the room smell for the duration of my stay (3 nights) and made it hard to sleep. The room was just OK - a bit damp and dreary, but functional enough. The staff and service was very good, and the restaurant was a highlight as well. However the bugs were enough to ensure a poor stay - we could not use the outdoor areas at all. This could easily be solved by treating or removing the bushes around the property and ensuring there is no standing water at any time in the spring/summer

We spent a wonderful evening at the restaurant with their set menu; local Gers delicacies and wine! The foie gras is definitely a must have; such a decadent meal prepared with chef's expertise. The main dish we had was magret with fig sauce (simplified version), and hazelnut chocolate dessert. I'd recommend to take the wine pairing at an extra cost but it's really worth it.

This hotel mixes an old house/barn conversion with a group of Scandi-design wood buildings surrounded by fields with a lovely trio of donkeys for neighbors.  Unfortunately, I booked the hotel for the pool which wasn't open despite its advertising because it was on the cooler side and they didn't want to heat it, so that took away from the experience for me.  As well, the donkeys didn't seem to have any shelter of their own (or they preferred to hang out by the rooms) as they made their home under my room, which didn't provide the nicest smell on the balcony or when I wanted to leave the doors open for some "fresh" air.  The restaurant/food was good for dinner, with excellent service and good wine recommendations, and provided a nice breakfast buffet in the morning as well.
