One of the oldest of the Egyptian obelisks in Rome, the Obelisk of Montecitorio was brought to Rome in 10 BC and was apparently quarried and carved in 595-589 BC, making it nearly 2600 years old.

On the evening I visited, there was a pretty strong police presence so despite the darkness and light drizzle, I felt pretty secure on my own.

Sadly, the obelisk is not nearly as well lit as others.
