We recently stayed at the Haymarket by Scandic in Stockholm for three nights and had a delightful experience. Here are some highlights:

Positive Aspects:

The hotel is set in a beautiful Art Deco building from 1916, and the interior design wonderfully reflects this era. Our room maintained a high standard, featuring a comfortable bed and a bathroom with a heated floor. The bathroom also comes with refillable toiletries including body lotion, shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner. The room had air conditioning, but we appreciated that the window could also be opened for fresh air.

The breakfast buffet was fantastic, offering many choices including a waffle maker, sparkling wine, and fresh juice. A booking slot is required to manage space, which worked well. The staff were friendly and attentive throughout our stay. There is a bar on site that offers innovative cocktails, perfect for relaxing in the evening. Luggage storage is available, which was very convenient for us. We used the express check-out option since our bill was settled at check-in, making our departure smooth and quick.

The location is excellent, just a 10-minute walk from the main station where the Arlanda Express arrives from the airport. The old town is also a 10-minute walk away, with all major attractions being easily walkable yet the area remains fairly quiet.

Negative Aspects:

Our room was pretty small, so those bringing a lot of luggage should consider booking a larger room.
The building is quite large, so the walk from the elevator to our room was quite long. Those having issues with walking should ask for a room close to the elevator.

Really lovely little hotel in center city. I didn’t indulge in the breakfast but it smelled great.

My biggest complaint with this hotel is related to my room location; I fully acknowledge that I booked an interior/no window room prepaid through Delta, but my complaint isn’t related to that (honestly loved the interior room - it was dark and cold). I was placed in the same hallway as all of the airline employees who are “day sleepers” (aka, just worked a red eye flight). Because of that, the housekeeping has to start flipping their rooms much sooner, so starting around 6am I would hear A LOT of doors slamming all around me and the hallway outside my room would be littered with carts.

I understand why the hotel has to operate like this, I just wish the employees were a little quieter with all the door slamming as it woke me up and made it very challenging to get a good night’s sleep.

Lovely Hotel with art deco vibes. The room had no windows, which messed with my head a little, but on the plus side, the light didn't wake you! Staff were helpful and friendly, and the location was perfect. Didn't eat here, so I can't comment. Would recommend.

I had a great time at the hotel, but it was ruined the last day, when I got the laundry bill. 100 euros to wash a few T-shifts and some underwear.
It all happened because I was in a rush, went to reception with a bag of dirty clothes, and asked if they had laundry service. They mentioned they had special bags in the rooms with the list of prices. But they said they would prepare that bag for me. I suppose they were trying to be kind, but it meant that I didn't get to see the absurdly high prices (10 euros per T-shirt, 5 euros per piece of underwear).
Now I have learned (the hard way) that apparently it's common for hotels to charge unreasonably high prices for laundry. But this doesn't mean we should not complain about it.

Stayed here for a long weekend in Stockholm. Fantastic location for accessing all parts of the city and quick access to the airport. Nice spec and good amenities.

One big downside is noise. There is a real lack of soundproofing between rooms so that the walls literally shake when the main door into each room shuts, and the doors only seem to slam shut. There appears to also be a lot of doors slamming through the night. This disturbed my sleep multiple times on each night of my stay, which impacted the trip.
This issue appears to be known to staff but needs to be fixed asap.
