Great venue for live music, friendly staff and crowd, good atmosphere. I attended for a jazz evening dedicated to Nina Simone which was fabulous! The performers mentioned an issue which they’d had in sound check which was a loud noise from the disco balls above when they weren’t playing which is why I dedicated a star as this wasn’t rectified. I also ate delicious Mexican food in the beer garden which was prepared fresh.

Went to the venue for a gig and was very pleased with my experience.

Moderately sized dance floor. Bar very busy but easy to get a drink relatively early.
Sound system was insane, industrial standard or above.
Particularly enjoyed outdoor sittings, a rare sight for a club like this.

Overall happy with the visit. Outdoors a tad messy, empty cans, bowls, cig butts all over the place.

Venue was quite nice, parking on side streets wasn’t a problem for the time of the evening 18:30 found the drinks quite expensive though. Staff are friendly and polite.  My youngest son preformed in stage by himself and later with his college colleagues.  Good night all in all.

Decent Brixton venue with a good selection of the bar. Some people have mentioned expensive drinks but nothing beyond what is in line with London pricing.
There are a couple of pool tables that take card.
The music is very loud from quite early in the evening.
Tbe entertainment is hit and miss. When they hit, they really hit. The Hootananny can be a really amazing venue but when there's nothing special on it can be a bit of a dry empty venue.

The outdoors area is covered and heated in the winter and it's a nice space in the summer.

Decent venue but pay attention to the events they've got listed.

It's hard to describe Hoots... its a large pub with shutters that opens up the whole place as a pumping venue. The sound is awesome. Bands or DJs. And very intimate too. I just love it! Staff are always cool and friendly and tge vibe always has been too. Let's ave it!
