I was disappointed by the quality of the food and drinks, as well as the employees constantly wanting to be sure you signed their $0 receipts, in the hopes of a tip (even though not a whole lot of them provided truly exceptional/friendly service). I gave plenty, but I hate obliged tips in the first place. Representatives of the resort have previously stated tips are already included in the all-inclusive cost. Then there’s just the general cost of things that weren’t included in the all-inclusive; definitely “let’s rip off the rich tourists” kind of prices. As for the alcoholic drinks, apparently they watered down the liquor bottles because the drinks weren’t very strong (unless you stuck to beer/wine). The only other all-inclusive food I have to compare to is a carnival cruise, which definitely isn’t high-end, yet was far better quality than this resort’s food. I suppose it should come as no surprise that of course the best things they did serve were Mexican cuisine. (I had the shrimp tacos for lunch almost every day.)
Don’t get me wrong, the other food wasn’t terrible, it just generally wasn’t that great and often seemed to lack proper preparation/seasoning. They had pizza that the kids often preferred over other things (wood fired, at that), but again, pretty lacking in the flavor department.
It wasn’t a terrible experience, but I also didn’t feel I got my money’s worth out of the all-inclusive.

To be fair this hotel is a little dated. But it more than makes up for it with the excellent service of the staff and the food which really very good. The Teppenyaki restaurant is exceptional. The pools are awesome. It even has clothes washing service which is very cheap and a pancake making machine. Rooms are big and the resort is very clean. They run shuttle buses into the town regularly. The have tennis courts and a decent gym. I have just stayed at the Hilton in Tulum which was twice the price and despite being very good looking was not half the experience. I would choose this hotel over that one every time.

I can't say enough good things about this resort.  I took my 2 kids 7 and 10, and we had the best time. I highly recommend that for any family vacation, the food , service, and resort are truly amazing.

Had a wonderful time. The resort is amazing and the staff throughout the whole Resort are always making sure that I was comfortable and enjoying ourselves. This is the third resort I've been to and this is mine and my wife's favorite resort. It is beautiful and very well taken care of. The food is amazing,  several different restaurants and bars to have drinks. My wife is one who actually for real medical reasons to not eat gluten. She cant bend the rule at all. They always ask if there is any food allergies. Without asking, they offered and made gluten free pancakes and waffles. Myself and my wife choose not to drink alcohol.  They have a GREAT selections of Mocktails!!!! They are delicious!!!! The jacuzzi was just outside of my room door and the ocean view is from the rear of our room. They provide for those who want to relax and they provide many activities for those who are active. There is a golf course within walking distance to the Resort so the Hacienda has golf clubs that you can take and use there.

Such a great place to stay! All-inclusive was definitely worth it, especially the breakfast buffet; try the Jugo Verde (green juice). BTW, the best before dinner drink was the White Russian. Even though the beach is recovering from the hurricane, it was still beautiful. The shuttle downtown was great too, just make sure you make the reservation and catch the last shuttle.
