Super friendly staff. The upgraded room is very spacious.  I like the night light function in bathroom, 5-10 min walk to BART Powell station. Close to union square. Walked to Chinatown. Breakfast was great. Not a big fan of the destination charge fee, would prefer the transparency of building it into the rate but I guess then it gets taxed. Hallways are a little dated, but rooms and lobby are nice. Thought it was a quiet stay. Sure the neighborhood has some "flavor" but sf has to figure that out.

Best hotel staff I’ve ever encountered. Everyone was friendly and super helpful. Building was dated, but in excellent condition with loads of personality. Centrally located for all the things we wanted to do while in the city. Restaurant breakfast was delicious. Bar food and drinks were excellent as well. Great experience!!

We are Marriott members, and we chose the hotel because of the location and character of the hotel.
The rooms were spacious, as was the bathroom.
We were on the 11th floor facing Geary Street and didn't find it noisy.
Room service was tentative.
We enjoyed happy hour at the bar, and the service from Kinga was outstanding. She made our stay very comfortable.
The hotel is close to a lot of restaurants and shopping, so walking the area was comfortable.
We would stay again when we return to San Francisco.

Tuan and Lonnie are the best staff in SF! Both men made my sisters and I feel safe. They went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. The hotel was wonderful, good locations and honestly, everyone was great. As soon as we arrived they provided us with champagne and water. I would definitely stay again.

This was a last minute decision to stay in San Francisco for one evening of our trip. This hotel was absolutely perfect. The location worked out great, as we had dinner reservations nearby and it was close to walk to a lot of the spots we wanted to visit. Staff were next level, incredibly friendly and helpful with directions, advice, and ideas. The room was spotless as was the bathroom. We will definitely be staying here on a return trip.
