The Palace Hotel is really a gem under the Marriott umbrella. From the bowler hat wearing porters, to the grand chandeliers, rich woodwork and marble stairs, the Palace Hotel exudes old school charm and elegance throughout.

Check-in was a breeze and the reception staff were so incredibly friendly and kind. When I arrived at my room I noted the oversized doors both at the entry, and on the closet and bathroom.  That combined with deep window sills and vaulted ceilings gives the rooms a large airy feel and is also a reminder that the Palace Hotel was (re)built as a luxury hotel back in 1909 when there was less pressure to monetize every square foot of space.

The evening of arrival, I wanted to walk to find some Italian food. I stopped by the Concierge and he was just fantastic. He actually suggested the same restaurant I had already been looking at, confirmed some directions, and reassured me that the walk in that area of town would be reasonable.

Housekeeping took great care with the room and trash and towels were addressed each day.

If there was only one thing to note, it was that the tub had a glass shower divider on it that only spanned part of the tub. It left me feeling like I had a shower curtain that I could only pull half-way.

As I left the property, checkout was equally easy and I left looking forward to the next time I'll be in town.

We went there for for business/holiday. Heard so many good reviews but was very disappointed with how dated and noisy the room was. I specifically asked for a quiet room when booking and also checking in. Receptionist told me that it was quiet room. But at night, we can hear people passing by, walking, talking. Luckily I had a pair of ear plugs so manage to sleep through. There was not much point changing the room as every room door had a gap. So we ended up putting towels on the floor gap and more pillows as well which helped a little.
When having a shower, they have a little folded glass which leaks water after the shower and wets floor around the toilet. So we had to put towels around the toilet so our socks did not get wet after. We did not think doorman was that attentive as maybe 20 percent of the time, they opened the door but rest just stood there. Room cleaning was good. It does have an amazing foyer lounge bar. Location is really good! I won’t go back to this hotel.

The best sleep I have had this year. Inside room had no view and no noise at all. Heavenly. The bed and comforter were perfectly. Staff is incredibly nice and helpful. Encore personnel were also top notch. We had a perfect meeting with a small group and everyone enjoyed the experience.

I recently stayed at this hotel and was thoroughly impressed, earning it a solid five out of five stars from me. The exceptional and friendly staff made the experience truly memorable, as they went above and beyond to ensure every guest felt welcomed and cared for. The rooms were impeccably clean, providing a comfortable and relaxing environment. The dining options were diverse and delightful, with great restaurants offering a variety of delicious cuisines. Additionally, the central lobby is nothing short of magnificent. Its elegant design and spacious layout create a stunning first impression and a perfect place to unwind. Overall, this hotel provided an outstanding experience that exceeded all my expectations.

Lovely historic hotel with a gorgeous atrium! It is beautifully decorated with old fashioned rooms with modern bathrooms and bedding. It was quiet and comfortable. We had a deluxe king room on floor 4. Definitely go visit the Pied Piper lounge for a drink or at least to see the pied piper painting. A lovely older English man greeted us and gave us a little history on the place. His warmth, knowledge and sincerity is a gem for the hotel. He recommended the hotel museum 18–totally worth visiting! Make sure you view the post card pictures on the table of the hotel  through the ages, and DON’T MISS a quirky little letter from Mr. Parrish, artist of the Pied Piper painting. It’s hilarious. It’s on your right as you enter the door of the museum. The door and bell service were wonderful, and check in was easy. The hotel was decorated for Christmas, and it was traditional and lovely.
