Food was good and decent, and service? No service existed. But u still need to tip.

If you LOVE Korean food specifically, then this place is great. If you just wanna eat at a nice place with good food, look somewhere else.

Truly an ethnic dive - food is like you mother makes (if she grew up just south of the DMZ that is). No real ambiance and service can be brusque (ask early if you want more of anything like kimchi).

Highlights from our latest visit were the seafood scallion pancake and japchae - absolute must order! Banchan and tabletop bulgogi are quite tasty and rounded out our meal nicely.

Can vouch for their consistency - I’ve been eating here for more than 20 years.

Notes: often busy with a line out the door (hardly any waiting space inside) - go early on a weekend. BYOB if you want beer, soju, etc.

I’m not the type to give any type of bad review. But this one made it. Save your stomach and go somewhere else. We ordered raw oysters and they were still frozen. FROZEN! We also ordered cold noodle and the noodles were still hard! It was so hard to chew! Due to such a negative experience we didn’t tip much, and the worker chased us down the block to tip more. I’m in disbelief. Never coming back here nor do I recommend anyone to.

I used to visit this restaurant every time I came to Chicago. I'm sorry, but I have to leave this place a bad review, and I don't recommend here.
-The portable gas stove for the BBQ had no gas, and the stone pots on top of it stayed warm for a long time, which should have been enough to cook the meat. However, as you can see in the attached video, even when I asked for replacing gas, they wouldn't service the gas replacement until we waited for a long time.
-The highlight of the place is the fried rice fried in the pan. As soon as we ordered, the rice and vegetables were added, and our server left the restaurant. She returned a while later, and as you can see in the attached photo, our fried rice was burnt.
After several visits, my impression is that this is a restaurant where you be happy with taste rather than service.
Now, both the taste and service are terrible. Please don't visit here at least until the food or service improves.
