The cherry blossoms make the promenade absolutely beautiful, but it can be difficult to enjoy due to the sheer volume of tourists that are always present. We went early on a weekday and it was still difficult to avoid large crowds, especially in the busier areas. Would recommend coming at maybe 6am if you want to get pictures with fewer people.

The Meguro river is a nice area to stroll around and grab something to eat or drink, regardless if it’s Sakura or not. Actually, during Sakura the place is so crowded it’s hard to enjoy the area, unless you enjoy crowds of course. That said, when the cherry trees are in full bloom it is very beautiful.

Blossoming cherry blossom alongside the river makes it a very beautiful place and perfect one to take a stroll. The only problem during sakura season is it's very crowded even in a rainy day.

River stretch with many cherry blossoms.  Unfortunately currently 30Mar not fully bloom probably less than half the trees along the river have flowers.  Crowd starts to form after 6pm as the sky darkened.
Realised there is no night illumination for Meguro River after visiting it for 2 nights.
