I love live music. Whenever I am in Bangkok, I go to the Hillary bars. There are altogether 7 outlets around Nana. 3 bands rotate every night and I can honestly say all the bands are superb. You will not be disappointed. The best part, drinks prices are so reasonable for a place with live entertainment. The talent impressive and service superb.

This Bar is great to play pool and eat great food. I enjoyed the Best Live Bands here at Hillary’s 2 that I have ever listened to. I will be back every time I visit BKK Thailand.

Nice bar with live music. Has a cover charge of one drink. Only downside for me is that the pool table queue is single elimination style, but with no actual tournament. So one person can be at a table for quite a while even when the queue is very long.

On my recent solo  stay in Bangkok, I popped into Hilary 2 at night, for a few drinks and to soak up the atmosphere.
I sat at a table and was immediately joined by a Thai girl, who threw her arm around me, and asked for a drink. I told her I wasn’t interested in her and didn’t want to buy her a drink. She said fine, and came back with a drink, but as I was paying for my drinks with cash as I went along, I assumed she was doing the same thing.
She had several drinks, and refused to leave my table, no matter how many times I told her I wasn’t interested in her.
Eventually I ran out of cash, and told her I was going to leave, but brought my drink outside, to smoke a cigarette with it.
I was then shown a bill by a member of staff of over 500 baht. When I asked what this was for, he told me the girl I was with said I was paying for her drinks.
I told him I payed for my drinks all along, and had no cash left, and didn’t know the girl, but he insisted I pay by card, and when I looked inside, the girl was nowhere to be seen.
At no point did the member of staff threathen me, but still said I had to pay, even though they had no right to allow a Thai girl to run up a bill for me, without me giving my consent first.
I won’t be back to this bar again.
