Perfect place for both a short and/or a long stay in Pisa. Position is only few minutes from the city center. The room was comfortable and cozy. The owners are very helpful and care for all your possible needs.

There's nothing wrong with this place, it's just not enough to get 5 stars. I would give 4.5 stars if Google allows. The room is spacious, comfy, and warm. The bathroom is shared but very clean. The apartment is not on the ground level so we had to climb a bit of stairs with the luggage to get there. The place is about 20-30 minutes walk to the center of Pisa, so it's not super close to downtown. However, the walk to the center is safe and pretty. The price for the place is cheap compared to other accomodations in Pisa. So if you want somewhere cheap to stay, this would be a great place!

Room was big and clean, bathroom not bad. You can use a kitchen. Parking is free at the street without any problems. If you want go to the Leaning tower you need to walk around 20 minutes.

This is not a place accessible to a person on a wheelchair. To reach Il Merlo from the train station, catch bus 4 and buy the ticket on the square, else pay a bit more on the bus. I had 2 good night's sleep, and woke up both mornings to some beautiful bird song. There is a park very near by Il Merlo, and enough trees around the property for birds to like it here.

The room was clean and very presentable, the bed quite firm, which improved my sleep. Floors are in stone as it is typical. The table lamp didn't work, the TV is tiny and probably unnecessary (we always have TVs in our hands!). I struggled with the lack of power outlets.

The bathroom was outside my room, but very clean and with very comfortable shower and amenities. The owner gave me towels, there was only a soap dispenser for the sink.

For those who would stay longer there is a kitchen, which would be a money saver considering that to eat outside will average a 30-50€ a day, compared to less than 10 of you cook on your own. You'd have to buy absolutely everything to do your cooking as there doesn't seem to be any sharing between guests. There is a small tea, hotel jam, and crackers table though.

The doors are very squeaky and noisy. Since my room faced south it got hot and I'm not sure if in the peak of the heat season (it's beginning of July now) this room is still ok to sleep in. There is no air conditioning, and only a small fan was provided, which I had to incline in a particular position to not make it noisy. Keeping the window open at night requires a mosquito repellent to work all the time (provided by the hotel) something I wouldn't favor for a longer stay.

Generally speaking the place is quiet, at least in the early morning and evening. There is a small library, an iron, an iron board, and basically all you need for your tourist or business trip.

Guests were polite and respectful of silence at night even when arriving late, and I think I only caught someone's slight cigarette smell in the bathroom the first night.

Really nice place to stay. Much more than I expected for this price. Big rooms, clean bathroom and kitchen. Quiet place, not so far away from the airport, train station or city centre. Will come back definitely on my next trip to Pisa 😊 I really recommend it :)
