My wife and I chose this hotel for a three-night stay based on its location, which is very good. But the hotel itself would far better suit groups than couples. The location, although well-placed, is noisy. Refuse removal in the street at 4am and food- and beverage deliveries to the opposite street-side establishments starting 6am. Party on the roof until 10pm (although I must say management is strict when it comes to this cut-off). Management is strict overall; reminded me of primary school when the teacher scolded you before you actually did anything wrong. The breakfast can be considered continental due only to the fact that it is located on the continent. And be careful not to try and take coffee for your wife down to your room. The manager sternly rebuked me when he caught me red-handed going down the stairs. This was very entertaining. Oh yes, and there is no working elevator. My calf muscles started developing on day two of our stay. For some reason we were upgraded to a family room, which only meant an extra single bed on the way to the bathroom. The room is not insulated for sound or heat, and we had to use the single bed duvet to supplement our double bed covering, so the upgrade had some benefit. An odd little hotel. Much like an old harbour tart decorated under a layer of colourful makeup. To be fair, I think we were just not matched to the establishment as we have different tastes and certain service level expectations at certain price points. If you are a group of 20 year-olds rolling into Lisbon I think the ART INN will do just fine.

I would have given 5 stars if the elevator was available from the ground floor to reception floor-sadly, it is not.  The hotel was located near the places we desired to visit and has lots of character.  Employees here are attentive and respond quickly to concerns.

Daily breakfast was very good and the rooftop view could not be beat.
Our first night, we had dinner at the rooftop restaurant.  My salmon was cooked perfectly!

Sadly, the stairs throughout the building require a level of physical health-- but so does walking the streets of Lisbon!

Cool little room! Nice to have a rooftop to go to for drinks and for breakfast. Good location! Easy to get to and not a hill to climb to get to! But lots of stairs to get to the rooms (but there is an elevator although my friends and I didn’t need to use it but it is available for use). Great little breakfast! Had eggs, beans, bacon, yogurt, nuts, bread. Very helpful reception!

We had a room in the middle of the house with view on the one side to the elevator and the other to the stairway, which was not so nice but acceptable. The room was well and nicely equipped and stylishly renovated. Anything in the room was functional. The rooftopbar is a perfect place to eat, drink and relax. The breakfast was great und contained anything we desired. The location within the city Centre is perfect. The staff is friendly and helpful.
