The hotel is very well situated to see all the main attractions in Seville.  It has the appearance of being a little tired and in need of a re-fresh.  It is clean and it is clear that this is something the management take seriously.  The staff overall are polite, friendly and helpful.  Our room was spotlessly clean.  The bed was especially comfortable and given that we had come from a hotel that was recently refurbished to a high standard but with an uncomfortable bed, it was a pleasure to have a bed at the Sercotel that was very good.  The bathroom is small and feels a little cramped.  It had a bath with a shower/screen but it is awkward to run a bath as there are no taps.  The bath can only be filled using the shower hose.  I think the hotel prefers people to shower rather than run a bath - if so it would be better to replace the bath with a walk in shower.  Most disappointing about the bathroom was not having hot water on our last night.  Despite running the hot water for some considerable time, and standing under luke warm water, the water never got hot.  It was the same the following morning.  The 2 previous nights we had hot water.

The bedroom did not have carpets nor any pictures on the walls which gave it an unwelcoming feeling.  In other respects - TV, tea/coffee making, wardrobe - the room was fine.

Breakfast was very good with a wide range of choice.  The hot food was hot.  The staff at breakfast were helpful.

Overall, we had a reasonable stay but I would probably not recommend the hotel based on the rates we paid.  This is more about the facilities and condition of the hotel, than the staff that work there.

Great location, clean hotel and great staff but I think overall there is a mold/damp issue in the hotel. First room that I was given was a small single room and smelt full of mold because it was looking at the back. Then I wanted to change the room because I have allergy to mold and I would probably die there. The staff was very helpful, they changed to a better room but then it was looking at the inside area, again no fresh air. It was better obviously so I slept well but every morning I woke up with a huge headache. I didn’t understand it in the beginning but then realized it was due to the damp air that stuck inside the hotel, which I have allergic reaction to. So be careful when booking !

Fantastic location. Nice breakfast, great decoration.
My room was a single and therefore not so big, but nicely decorated and had all that needed. Mattress was comfortable.  The only "issue" was some sewage smell one of the days. Also it was right beside the lift so you could hear quite a lot other guests arriving specially at night.

Sercotel Las Casas de los Mercaderes is a beautiful classical building located in the centre of Seville Old Town. It is not easy to spot from the road, so if you're arriving by car you will need to follow your satnav carefully, and don't be afraid to pull up on the pavement!  Surrounded by narrow streets with shops, bars and restaurants, and tree-lined plazas with busy cafes, it is only a short walk from the Cathedral and Alcazar.  Breakfasts are served in the hotel's fabulous atrium area, and everything, including public spaces and rooms, is spotlessly clean and well maintained. Underground parking (reasonably priced) is available next to the hotel. The hotel staff are friendly and professional and really make guests feel welcome.

room number 116 junior suit was looking inner wall and there was no ınformation about this before booking. ı asked to change another room it could be lower category. but this room was smelling dirty also. there was a bad sanitary smell from bathroom.  but hotel is in city center.
