We came here as it was close to another museum we were at and wanted something nice to eat. This is located in the Viking Museum but has a nice atmosphere to it.

We had the Arctic Char and the Venison meatballs along with two mead samplers (to try all six). The fish was nice and included a nice side of vegetables and potatoes. The fish and sauce were a little light in taste, but overall, it was good.

The meatballs were nice. They had a good balance of saltiness and flavor, and nothing really was overwhelming.

The mead sampling is quite expensive. For three small servings, it is about 30 USD, but you can order two of them and get a full sized amount for the same price. If they gave a little more mead for their samplers, it would be worth it, but otherwise, just order a glass instead.

The price to food and drink quality was a little high, but overall, the food is good, just do without the mead tasting.

We recently visited this Viking-themed café, and the experience was a mixed bag.

1. Service at the Entrance:
The café was completely empty when we arrived, yet the hostess didn’t exactly make us feel welcome. We asked for a table by the window, but she pointed us to a two-seater instead. We didn’t mind at first but asked where we could place our belongings. Her response? “Put them on the floor.”

We were quite surprised and politely asked again to sit by the four-seater table near the window. She sighed in annoyance and reluctantly said, “If you want, sit there.” I even had to explain that we wouldn’t stay long and wouldn’t inconvenience anyone. She justified her behavior by saying that there would soon be a rush of guests, which is why she was hesitant. Still, we eventually sat where we wanted, but it wasn’t a great start to the evening.

2. Waiter’s Service:
Thankfully, the waiter completely turned things around. He was friendly, cheerful, and attentive, making us feel much more at ease. His positive attitude really saved the evening.

3. Food:
•	Lobster Soup: It’s definitely for those who enjoy unique flavors. It wasn’t bad, but it’s quite distinctive, so think twice before ordering it.
•	Salmon: Absolutely fantastic! Highly recommend it.

Conclusion:
The initial interaction with the hostess left a bad impression, but the waiter’s excellent service and the quality of the food made up for it to some extent. However, the café needs to work on their attitude toward guests—especially when the place is empty. A simple welcoming approach could have made all the difference.

We stopped here for coffee during our 'museum hop' and it was amazing.
Firstly, it's a truly beautiful room. We were there just after Christmas and the decorations were still up. Even without that, it's a comfortable, warm and beautifully textured space.
The staff are warm and friendly, even though we got there around lunchtime and took up a table (just for a little while).
And the coffee was possibly the best we had in Sweden - hot, great beans, served in amazing mugs.
Separately, while we didn't eat, the food looked amazing.
Highly recommend if you're in the area - this is a beautiful space compared to some of the other museum offerings.
