I found this bar via Google maps, saw the glowing reviews, and decided to visit. We loved it. While you can find cheaper drinks in Shinjuku, Edy doesn’t hit you with a cover charge and is very open about that. Also — free popcorn! We met other tourists in this bar and had an awesome time. Definitely check it out! Customers are allowed to smoke here, just keep that in mind if you plan to visit.

My husband and I were in Shinjuku for a few nights, and I have to say, there is no place like Edys Bar.

We met people from around the world and hung out until the morning hours.

I left my wallet there the first night and Edy held onto it for me.
I love the atmosphere at Edys bar.

We can't wait to see you again on our next trip to Japan.

Had an amazing time with my friends. Made new friends there as well. Such a lively fun place. Definitely recommend. Drinks were good as were the snacks. Owner was very friendly and welcoming, even pointed us to the nearest train station so we wouldn’t miss the last train. Really nice to talk with. Cheap drinks which is always good

Edy’s bar are a great place to go for good vibes and inexpensive drinks (everything is 1000 yen). The complimentary popcorn is a nice touch and you’re guaranteed good conversation, either with Edy himself or the myriad of tourists that pass through.

There’s a reason I went back 3 times in the 5 nights I stayed there, and I’ll make a point of going back whenever I’m in Tokyo.
