Excellent food and treats downtown George Town, Malaysia. Also the set-up is down to earth We visited the place in December 2024. The place is mentioned in the Michelin guide.

It reminds me a bit of place where hipsters hang around. From the outside you wouldn’t expect anything. You enter the place passing by the washrooms and cooking area watching people preparing food and desserts. We sat on the ground floor and there is more space above if you come in a bigger group.

The savoury food is yummy, and the treats are even better. We ordered a few rounds of small bites to eat. Also the teas and other drinks.

Attentive staff, food was delivered quickly.

Minus points are that at least two things from the menu were not available.

I tried it because it has a Michelin star and the cakes are delicious. Apart from cakes, there are also heavy meals. For cake lovers, it's a must try

We came here to order some takeaway Nyonya kuih. The interior is filled with Kampung Baru-style design and furniture. The kuih were small in size and didn’t taste as good as those in Singapore. Not sure if that’s the style of the northern Nyonya or what. The main flavor was coconut milk, while other flavors like pandan, taro, etc., were not easy to distinguish. We also ordered their curry puffs and spring rolls, which tasted just like regular curry puffs and spring rolls.

There aren’t many places to explore inside the shop; perhaps it was just a coincidence that there were no chefs making kuih when we visited.

Personally, I think it's more of a 'been there, done that' kind of place. Unless you have time, there’s no need to make a special trip here, as there’s nothing much to see nearby either

Despite being Michelin-recommended, this is one of the disappointing and overrated places for Nyonya kuih.

The kuih lapis lacks the rich coconut milk flavor you'd expect, and the texture is subpar—you can’t even peel it layer by layer as you should.

The rempah udang tastes good, and I enjoyed the filling, but the portion is too small for the price.

Overall, a little too overrated.

Had a variety of deserts as well as the Teh and white coffee cold. I liked how you can order each individually and they were inexpensive. There was a good variety and they tasted good.
