The Grand Hotel Minerva was the perfect choice!  The location was ideal.  Our suite was amazing overlooking the piazza!  From the minute we checked into the hotel until we departed, our experience was wonderful.  Great location, very kind and helpful staff, fulsome breakfast buffet with good options for the vegans in our group.  The entire hotel is classy and elegant.  The city of Florence stole our hearts, a truly charming city, and this hotel was the perfect home base during our visit.  I can recommend this hotel with the utmost confidence.

This hotel was spectacular! The accommodations, the staff and location was superb! The staff was always willing to help and answer questions. They set up restaurant reservations, tours, things to enjoy in the city. The most wonderful hospitality! I highly recommend this hotel.

Location is great. Walking distance to the central train station. Facing to the plaza is a plus making it quiet at night. We stayed at deluxe double room for four nights. We love the layout of the room. A walking closet is the best. However, some arrangements on the bathroom are strange. For example, towel hooks are installed inside the shower area which makes no sense. Otherwise, we are in love with every aspects in the hotel. We really feel like it a home.

Although the hotel was generally friendly, it was not enough to be the best hotel. The location was really good and the view was excellent. It was impressive that the staff were active in guiding the traffic to Florence during the check-in. However, the moment I saw two shampoos stuck in my amenities on the first day (where the shower gel was supposed to be), I was disappointed. And the staff at my grandfather's restaurant, who didn't even ask for a plate with food that I hadn't finished yet, cleaned it up in front of my eyes on the second day of breakfast, was the worst. The most disappointing moment was when I asked if they could microwave-hot food that I had packed at a nearby restaurant (because of my health condition), but I was simply rejected. I think it is basic to warm up food that is outside. Besides this, it was honestly annoying to not say a word of greeting while staring at my face when I came in and out every day. I don't know if the sewage system was under construction on the last morning, but I remember the experience of having a bad smell. The location and overall level is a good hotel in Florence, but I don't want to recommend it to anyone or stay again.

We were charged 60 euros to have a car pick us up from the train station that is less than 0.5 miles to the hotel. On Arrival the driver told us the roads were closed and asked us to roll our suitcases to the hotel and walk.  In the way back they would not cancel our return car and they wouldn’t accommodate to have the car come earlier though we called several hours before.  The car was late and we walked again. The hotel would not request a refund and felt we should pay though we never got a ride from their car service

Please save yourself the trouble and the money don’t use hotel car service    I think it’s a scam

Vi bodde på hotellet i 6 dagar och åt på restaurangerna ofta. Chefen och personalen behandlade oss som familj. De lärde känna våra behov och var mycket snabba att ge vad vi behövde innan du frågar. Tack alla för att göra vår vistelse och middag mycket bekväm. Ropa till Paulo Micheli!

Restaurangens Al Fresca uteservering var kanske den bästa matupplevelsen vi har upplevt i alla våra resor över hela världen. Unika fashioned cocktails började vårt kulinariska äventyr. Urvalet av aperativ var enastående. Vår huvudrätt av torsk med vit sparris var lagad till perfektion. Desserter var också utsökt. Kudos till restaurangens kock. Lika oklanderlig som beredningen av maten, fick vi service lämplig för kungligheter. Vi har aldrig upplevt en så väl förberedd/utbildad personal som denna. Från matkaptenen som satt oss vid vårt bord, till var och en av tre serveringspersonal, behandlades vi som kungligheter. Vår matupplevelse varade i nästan tre timmar i en vacker utomhusupplevelse. Vi kommer definitivt att återvända denna vecka för en annan gourmet upplevelse under våra sju dagar i Florens.

Aloha. Min man och jag är på besök från Hawaii. Vi har besökt Firenze flera gånger under åren, och vi har hyrt en härlig lägenhet för en månads vistelse nära Piazza di Santa Maria Novella i vår . . . för att studera italienska och utforska området. Vi har både favoriträtter och lokala favoritrestauranger för dessa rätter. Vi undviker i allmänhet strikt turistiska områden, men vi vågade oss ut till Piazzan bara för en cocktail . . . söker en nostalgisk "vit rysk" drink som vi inte hade haft på ett antal år. Vi tvekade att stanna vid La Buona Novella eftersom bara en enda familj var middag på sin vackra uteservering. Men eftersom vi gillade både den närliggande piazza sångare & hans låtval, tillsammans med det faktum att vi var försäkrade restaurangen erbjöd en bra vit ryska, vi stannade. Vi beställde två drinkar . . . bedövade när de fick en räkning på 36 EUR (för närvarande motsvarande 39 . 20 USD) . Dessutom har vi sedan dess fått veta att varannan restaurang & bar där på Piazzan säljer en vit rysk dryck för 9 EUR; dvs halva priset! När vi klagade på 36 EUR kostnaden för de två dryckerna, uppgav servern priset är orimligt eftersom Grand Hotel Minerva är ett 4-stjärnigt hotell och därmed kan kräva höga priser. Han sade vidare: "Jag sätter inte priserna! " Kanske ledningen kommer att vara mindre flippant när det gäller att svara på vårt klagomål . . . och kan åtminstone ha input på nödvändiga (nedåt! ) justeringar av restaurangens nuvarande dryckespriser. Att ta 18 EUR för en enda White Russian cocktail är helt enkelt för mycket! Prisjusteringar kan mycket väl leda till ökade affärer.

Medan du besöker vackra Florens ville vi också uppleva bra mat. Denna restaurang var exceptionell. servicekvaliteten och presentationen var på punkt. Definitivt rekommenderas

Under vår vistelse i Firenze hade vi i denna topprestaurang en gång en lunch och tre gånger diner. Mycket trevlig personal. Superb mat. Vi har haft varje ögonblick.

Vi äter på många fantastiska restauranger men denna restaurang på alla hjärtans dag var den bästa! ! ! ! Setmenyn (skaldjur) var så perfekt! Varje kurs var utsökt. Min favorit var bläckfisken men havet kammusslor taco med havsborre grädde var en nära sekund.

Dolda bort på Grand Hotel Minerva, hittade vi denna sista minuten på The Fork - vilken fantastisk överraskning. Trots att de var uppenbara turister och med 20% rabatt i handen, behandlade personalen oss som royalty. Vi fick en otrolig gratis aptitretare med bröd och grönsaker, sedan åtnjöt två av de smakligaste men mest unika rätter jag någonsin har provat: löknudlar med ost och peppar, citron, lakrits och parmesanostfondue; och selleriravioli fyllda med bräserad vildsvin, mandel och enbär. Tyvärr kunde vi inte stanna efter dessert eftersom vi var tvungna att ta det sista tåget, jag hoppas att vi en dag kan komma igen. Dyrt, men väl värt det för personalservicen, platsen (utsikt över torget Santa Maria Novella och Santa Maria del Fiore) och diskens kvalitet.

Rekommenderas av en lokal kock som en av hans favoriter. Vi kom hit efter att ha behandlats på ett grovt sätt på en annan restaurang - det visade sig vara en serendipitös substitution! Maten var intressant och utsökt, servitören var vänlig och hjälpsam, inställningen är vacker - vi satt utanför, i utkanten av piazza Santa Maria Novella, och såg barn som cyklar och människor tyst går i den varma nattluften.

Bokade ett bord för 6 för att fira min dotters födelsedag och vi hade verkligen en vacker kväll. Matsalen är liten och elegant med intressanta teckningar på väggarna och en enkel men fin bordinställning. Vi valde vegetarisk registrering och behandlades på en översta middagsupplevelse både för smakerna (särskilt gillade "cavolo nero con spuma di pane" och "gelato alla patate arrosto") och en utmärkt servicenivå. Priserna är tillräckliga för restaurangnivån. Högt rekommenderad! !

Vi stannade på HOTEL ROMA som ligger i samma område av Santa Maria Novella. Det är den 1 gataplatsen vi besökte efter att vi tappat bort vårt bagage. Kyrkans arkitektur var så vacker, definitivt värt ett besök.

Restaurangen har en bra miljö. Tjänsten är fruktansvärt långsam och maten är mycket genomsnittlig. Pastan hade mycket liten smak och vildsvinen var fet pancetta. Den bästa delen av måltiden var den fria limoncello och brödspinnarna. Jag vill inte slam denna restaurang eftersom stämningen var utmärkt och vinpriserna var rättvisa. Maten var dock avg.

Mer moderna ta på traditionell italiensk mat. Mycket omtänksam i presentation och förberedelse. . Tjänsten var perfekt! Delarna är lite små men det var ok eftersom vi hade flera kurser och verkligen njöt av kvällen och utsikten över torget. Skulle definitivt gå igen!

Vi promenerade genom denna vackra torg och bestämde oss för att sluta. Åh, hur nöjd är det jag gjorde. Du måste besöka denna plats. Maten är fantastisk. Det rivaler alla Michelin-värderade platser, och vi har ätit på många. Jag började med en asparges aptitretare och hade sedan ankan. Båda fulla av smak. Min man hade ålen och munkfisken. Servitörer var vänliga och talade engelska flytande. Jag kan inte prata tillräckligt mycket om denna plats. Resten av rummet var också övertygad och inredningsrummen uppenbarligen nyligen redone. Detta är ett mycket stiligt ställe.

Tro det eller inte, en bra sallad är svår att hitta i Florens, de har stora sallader. Pastan är också bra.

Vi bodde på Grand Minerva och bestämde oss för att prova restaurangen till middag. Vi var väldigt glada vi gjorde. Tjänsten och maten var fantastiskt. Vi hade en bit morotkaka till efterrätt som var det bästa vi har ätit. Jag kan inte komma ihåg vårt underbara servitörer namn men kom ihåg Christina. Hon hade ett leende på hennes ansikte när vi såg henne och var ett nöje att prata med henne! ! Vi kommer tillbaka hit när i Florens.
