This hotel would be an excellent choice if you were to attend the annual Fallas and/or other Valencian festivities taking place around the plaza del Adjuntamiento. That is, provided you get a room to a view directly on the Plaza. But these come at a ridiculously higher room price.
While we enjoyed having such a view for the recently concluded Fallas, we felt the room was extremely small…and the toilet must have been designed by a group of deranged midget plumbers!!!🤣

We were very excited to stay here for our New Years holiday with rooms that boasted both wonderful plaza views and sound proof rooms. Unfortunately, the hotel is doing complete renovations on their upper floors (8th floor above us is entirely closed) and failed to notify guests before booking. We are enduring terrible noises of hammering and other loud sounds completely ruining our stay. The front desk admitted there was construction ongoing, was unapologetic and said there was no manager on site to address the issue. What a shame for such an otherwise lovely hotel. I would not recommend this hotel due to false advertisement and failure to protect clients during holiday seasons. We asked the front desk manager to come up to our room to address the hammering noises after he said it was no longer an issue and no one came up.

The terrace alone would have merited five stars... can't remember now whether we asked for a room with a terrace or just got lucky.  Staff was helpful.  The room itself was a bit dated (no USB outlets for example), but was clean and comfortable.  I appreciated the bottle of water every day and the Nespresso machine!  Location was right in the middle of everything, walkable from both train stations; there are direct buses to the beach for 1.50; the neighborhood is crowded, like every neighborhood in Valencia.  Plenty of restaurants nearby and about 10 minutes' walk from the Mercado Central.

The location was great and the service overal was good too. When me and my cousin arrived at the desk to check in, it felt like the man behind the desk did not believe we stayed in Melia. He barely made eye contact with us and literally asked “what is the hotel called that you booked?”. When my uncle wanted to talk to the man behind the desk by phone to help me and my cousin check in he simply declined and did not accept the phone when we handed it to him. (Happened august 11th in the morning) Completely unprofessional and disrespectful. Besides him the rest of the staff was nice.
