We had an excellent, above and beyond 5 night stay at Storchen. The hotel decor, ambience and staff were all incredibly welcoming. Our room was spacious, super comfortable, and the view of the clock tower was so special. The location was so easy for daily walks to Zurich HB and exploring old town. The area felt very safe. We traveled with a toddler and would recommend this hotel for families and non families!

Love this hotel.  We had the suite with an amazing view. The staffs were very nice and friendly while also being professional.  The concierge was exceptionally helpful with every little enquiries we had even before we arrive.  The only two downsides would be the price which is rather high and the fact that the property doesn’t have its own parking so getting the car takes awhile. Other than that, I would say everything was perfect

I have been a regular customer at this establishment for some time, often coming to enjoy a coffee and appreciate the view. Unfortunately, this experience was the most shocking and disrespectful encounter I’ve ever had here—or anywhere, for that matter.

The waiter’s behavior was appalling from the start: rude, inattentive, and utterly devoid of professionalism. The service was horrendous—so much so that I felt uncomfortable even being there. To make matters worse, after providing such disgraceful service, the waiter had the audacity to confront me about not leaving a tip, demanding to know why I left nothing! This level of entitlement and arrogance is beyond comprehension.

And as if that wasn’t enough, the ultimate insult came when the waiter threw the receipt at me instead of handing it over like a decent human being. Such unprofessionalism and outright disrespect should never be tolerated in any establishment, let alone one that relies on customer loyalty.

This experience has completely soured my opinion of this place. If this is how regular patrons are treated, I dread to think how others might be handled. Management should seriously reconsider who they allow to represent their business. Until there’s a drastic improvement, I will not be returning—and I’ll be warning others to avoid this place entirely.

We decided to have a meal outside the hotel due to the inviting atmosphere, and knew to expect elevated prices (even for Switzerland) which we were more than happy to pay. What we did not expect was to be shamed by our server about what we were and were not willing to tip. Please advise your staff that it is not their business to shame their guests, if they do not receive a tip in their favour. They do not know anyone's full circumstances. Moreover, they are not entitled to determine the gratuity - it is at the discretion of the customer, which is the whole point of a tip. It looks like other reviews have said the same thing, I just wish I had seen these before we chose to spend so much money there, as it completely ruined our entire day.

A nice boutique hotel right on the lake. Has a great restaurant with excellent breakfast options. It's a perfect place for families,  right in the middle of the city and within walking distance to all food joints and shopping places.
