I cannot say enough amazing things about Fhior. Even before the meal, which to be honest has been the best I've had in Scotland (including my last visit in Scotland which involved a tasting menu at a Michelin star restaurant), they were nothing but kind and extremely accommodating. Due to a work emergency we requested a change in time - they were able to make it work beautifully.
The decor is lovely. Simple, elegant, warm. The food was superb and gorgeously presented. Each wine pairing was spot on.
There's no question the next go around Fhior will go from Michelin guide to Michelin star.

What an amazing dining experience we had here! We went to Fhior for a reunion dinner with some old friends and they even had the courtesy to leave a greeting message on the table!So nice!
We had the tasting menu for 115£ and then combination of different flavours, textures and well designed dishes was astonishing!
A place to remember and to take in frat consideration!

We had the tasting menu with wine pairing, a whopping €650+ bill for the evening . The service is really excellent and the sommelier knowledgeable and interesting. Given this, I would have left happily even if the food was ordinary. Unfortunately I couldn’t manage to taste anything from the third course onwards, everything was so salty that borderlined on bitterness. I drank 4 large bottles of water during the meal. Even the desserts were salty, who would add salt to chocolate?! We booked this dinner one week in advance and we were so disappointed.

One of the best tasting menus we’ve ever been to. The food was delicious and perfectly crafted with local ingredients. The service, including our server and the sommelier were a pleasure to talk to. They talked us through each pairing and made the experience delightful. We will definitely be back whenever we’re in the area.

Side note: they also won the best of Scotland this year and have won many awards since being open. Kudos and congrats again!

Unfortunately we were very disappointed by our experience at Fhior. We had high expectations as the reviews have all been very positive. However, we thought the food really missed the mark. When we attended there was a guest chef and the menu offered was all seafood. We found most of the fish was not cooked well. Particularly, the squid spaghetti was chunky and chewy, and the squid ragu was underwhelming in flavour. The turbot was overcooked and rubbery. Throughout the meal, there was not a good balance of flavour and texture. I struggled to get through the full menu. The dessert courses were a step up from the mains, but overall, it was very disappointing. The sommelier had good knowledge and managed to do a great job pairing wines. The staff were very attentive and engaging. It was a shame they were let down by the food. Also, we thought the decor of the restaurant could do with improvement.
