August has consistently proven itself to be a top-tier fine dining destination in Jakarta, and my recent experience only solidified that reputation. From the moment you step inside, the ambiance exudes elegance and sophistication, setting the stage for a truly memorable culinary journey. It's a place that understands the art of fine dining, paying meticulous attention to every detail, from the service to the exquisite presentation of each dish.

My latest visit was made even more exceptional thanks to the UOB Zenith package. The curated menu offered was a testament to the chef's creativity and thoughtfulness, presenting a wholesome and well-balanced selection of dishes. It was evident that each course was carefully designed to complement the others, creating a harmonious and delightful dining experience. To have access to such a high-caliber menu through a special deal made the entire experience even more rewarding and felt like a truly rare opportunity.

August continues to impress with its commitment to culinary excellence and its ability to offer unique and valuable experiences. We took the chef’s journey (full experience menu) for my partner’s birthday. Overall experience was good, tho not all of the menu have “explosion of flavor”. However this is my first time to have indonesian contemporary fine dining, therefore taste and preference might be different.

Ambience is good, warm and simple. Restaurant is crowded as always but it was better for us as we took the 8pm (last entry) slot

August Jakarta is a true gem in the city’s culinary scene. The tasting menu is fantastic.  The restaurant excels in every aspect, from its exquisite food to its impeccable ambiance. Each dish is a masterclass in flavor and presentation, showcasing a thoughtful blend of creativity and quality ingredients. The ambiance strikes the perfect balance between elegance and comfort, creating a space where diners can truly relax and savor their experience. Adding to its charm is the staff, whose amicable service is attentive yet unobtrusive, making every guest feel valued. August Jakarta is a must-visit for anyone seeking a memorable dining experience.

Upscale dining establishment with a choice between a 12- or 16-course tasting menu. August offers a modern twist on Indonesian cuisine, featuring a wide variety of ingredients sourced from the archipelago's diverse and many islands.

We thoroughly enjoyed the 16-course menu. Many of the courses showcased creative flavor and texture combinations that made for a great experience. I was also very happy with the pacing and portion sizes, though we didn't have enough room to try any of the add-ons (which I gather are quite popular and worth a try). I especially enjoyed the tomato and smoked fish course, with the curry scallop and mushroom being a close second.

There were a few courses where I felt that they weren't as delicately put together as they could have been. Some came off as packing a little too much flavor, or being too doughy or too greasy, etc., but not nearly enough to knock them down to 4 stars. Again, overall, a great culinary experience.

Both ambiance and service are excellent. I can't speak to the drink pairing as I'm not a big wine enthusiast.

Spent 3,5 hours to eat all of Chef’s Journey 16 dishes. Service is 💯, serving table with explanation of each food.
Highlight for this season’s menu for me:
Octopus Corn, White Fish Bilimbi, Kombuchaaa🌟, Coffee Dessert
