A random visit to this nostalgic looking chwee kueh stall and honestly, that old school feel was good. They even were playing some very traditional dialect music at the back!
But is the food good? It's actually decent... More like. 3.5 stars. Does it taste old school? Can't really tell but I don't remember the saltiness at the level but am sure to some people, this taste is still good.
However my complaint is more for them giving me a stick to eat! I wasn't even able to pick up those traces of tiny chai Po that was left out at the side. So the entire eating experience wasn't that good. And also, they aren't exactly generous with the chai Po... Chilli was alright.
Not something I will queue for but as a quick snacks, it's still decent. But maybe get your own fork somewhere else!
A decent 7 out 10 in terms of taste but minus points for the stick!

Takeaway Chuee Kwee, 3.60 for 5 piece. very affordable.

the CK was also very solid even for takeway. different from other CK which was very soft.

Coming to this food centre always bring immense nostalgia as this is where I grew up as a young child in 70s till mid 90s. I have a few favourite stalls in this food centre that I will come back for again and again up till today. And this is one of them. It is quite an amazing feeling to get to eat something that the stall owners has spent their entire life on - day in and day out. The quality really speaks for itself - the silky texture, smooth and tenderness, make this Chwee kueh among my all-time favourites.

The Chwee kueh is home made and good texture with tasty chai poh and sambal! Wouldn’t say the best I’ve tasted but a lot better than others. 😋
