The good:
The hotel is in an excellent location, the rooms are nice and big (we were in a junior suite), the room are warm enough and the bathrooms are nice. The front desk people are pleasant and the restaurant is out of this world good

The bad:
The hotel does not have a spa or gym. They are located in a sister hotel about 100 yards away, which is not convenient in the winter when it is freezing cold. The hotel does not have a lobby of any real lobby or area to hang out in except for the room. You can also not go to the bar in the attached restaurant without reservations.

The Borg hotel (the sister hotel) is much nicer, has a beautiful lobby and the spa is located in that hotel. I would book that one instead of the Apotek if your looking for a nicer overall hotel experience.

Great hotel, the rooms are nice, and the breakfast is delicious. Just be careful not to have a room right over Lemmy's bar, loud live music until late on some nights.

Outstanding location right in the middle of everything.

Both of our rooms were lovely.  Comfortable beds, large rooms, nice bathrooms.

Front desk staff was friendly and offered us suggestions on things to do,  places to eat, and answered many questions that we had about the area, parking (it's kind of crazy there) what to eat and where, good places to shop, and navigating the never ending traffic circles.  We will definitely be back!

Great place to stay in Reykjavik. Front staff were helpful, clean rooms, great location. Only tricky thing was parking but the staff told us where to go. Highly recommend if staying in town for a night.

This hotel is situated in a prime location in the city center, and there's a 24/7 convenience store downstairs – a rare find in Iceland for getting supplies anytime, anywhere. We stayed in a Junior Suite, and while the room layout is average with somewhat less-than-ideal functional division, the room size is decent. It features a leisure area, and the room has good soundproofing. The hotel's breakfast is superb – you can check out my separate review for details. Overall, our stay was satisfying, and we would choose to stay here again next time!
