We had a good stay during our trip to Iceland. We stayed there for 1 night on the front end of the trip and then 4 nights on the back end. Breakfast buffet was great. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Paid parking was convenient either on the street or in the garage across from the street. The location of the hotel was excellent. Walkable to all the sites in Reykjavik. The only heads up is that it is in the heart of the city and you will hear noises from the street. Other than that it was a great stay and experience.

My family and I had the pleasure of staying at the Canopy for 7 days, and it was absolutely perfect! The location couldn’t have been better—it allowed us to walk to so many wonderful places in Reykjavik. From the moment we checked in, the service was impeccable. The staff and management were so friendly and welcoming, and Obi (I hope I’m spelling his name right!) went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable.

We enjoyed breakfast every morning at the hotel and had dinner there a few nights—the food was absolutely delicious, with a variety of options that catered to everyone in our family. They also have a daily happy hour and cozy spaces inside the hotel where you can relax and unwind. One of our favorite moments was spending an evening on the rooftop, capturing photos of the northern lights—a truly magical experience!

A quick note for travelers: there’s a parking garage next to the hotel that’s open from 7 AM to midnight, so keep that in mind if you’re renting a vehicle. And depending on the weather, the drive to the airport from this location can take up to an hour.

We loved every moment of our stay at the Canopy and can’t wait to return! Highly recommend it to anyone visiting Reykjavik.

10/10 Experience
First off I would like to say we were warmly welcomed by a woman named Marie at the front desk. She made the check-in process smooth and seamless. We were able to check in early when we arrived after our flight (around 830am). She informed us of the amenities the hotel had to offer. The hotel texted us during our stay to check on how we were doing.  In addition, we were able to have breakfast in the dining area that morning which included: croissants, fruits, ginger shots, salmon, etc. The room was clean and had shampoo, soap, conditioner, fridge, blow dryer and TV. As for the location- it was close to shopping, food and a short walk to the water for boat excursions.

Positive:
- Hotel is in a great location for access to the rest of Reykjavik. Stayed here for one night in December. Hotel has a cute self help bar and great restaurant.

Negative:
- Used points to book a room. Despite booking a King “Premium” I was placed in the tiniest room… with a king bed (almost too big for the room) with the elevator on one side and courtyard on the other.
- Asked staff if they could move me to another room, was told nope… it’s clear not many people were staying there - they just didn’t want to help.
- No parking at hotel. It’s across the road.
- Heat. For winter they have cranked up the internal heating WAY too much. My watch told me it was 22 degrees inside when it’s just above zero outside. Had to take numerous cold shower just to sleep.
- Noise. If you have a room facing the courtyard. Don’t expect to sleep prior to 2330 if you want a window open.

This is a great hotel. Perfect location, modern and contemporary design and room furnishings.   The service staff were always helpful.   Beds were very comfortable, good showers with good water pressure.   The restaurant breakfast was five star.  Don't miss it.  I had dinner twice at the hotel and I was say it was good to very good.  There are certainly better restaurants in the area but for a hotel, it was more than adequate.  I would easily come back to this hotel and look forward to it.
