Good location and beautiful historic exterior. A beautiful lobby and nice front desk staff. After that though, I would have to say my stay was very "mid" as the kids say these days. Overall it did not feel like a luxury experience, it was very blah. Here's why: 1) they gave us the wrong type room (a tiny room with only a shower instead of the upgraded room type with bathtub that I paid for) and when I asked to be moved they said it wasn't ready so we didn't get into this room until close to 9pm. I requested a room type with a bathtub and the bathtub was very old and the vinyl in the bathtub was actually peeling. 2) The room was very worn in general; things like the carpet were very old and stained and there was dirt and dust inside the minibar fridge. 3) The spa facility was tiny and not entirely functional. There were not staff to monitor the facilities and there were parents letting their kids run in and out of the sauna and steam room and being loud. Not relaxing at all. Also, with no spa attendant, used towels were left everywhere with no one picking up so the whole place looked dirty and messy. Finally on the rooftop the soaking pool was not heated. It was ice cold. The doors to get outside to the rooftop patio were also weird sliding ones, where you weren't sure if you would just get locked out. 4) The rush laundry service did not work. We asked to have our clothes cleaned the same day and paid a rush fee -- and they promised they have it back by 10pm if we gave it to them by 9am which we did. By 10pm we called them to pick it up and they admitted they had never sent them out to the laundry. Ridiculous. They even have a special card in the room advertising not to worry about laundry they will take care of it. Overall, it was a very disappointing stay. I had looked forward to a nice stay with some spa soaks after working very hard that week, but in reality the room wasn't very nice, and the price was very high for what it was. I would recommend looking elsewhere. Photos of the dirty carpet and dirty shelf in the minibar.

Overall a great hotel. I will stay here again if I go back to Barcelona.
Pros:
1. Right in the middle of the old town where all the shops and great restaurants are.
2. Hotel is clean, with professional and respectful staff including the breakfast area.
3. Rooms are adequate size with enough space for luggages.
4. Clean and modern-looking lobby
5. Clean and updated business center and conference room.
6. Showers are modern-looking, clean and with quick hot water flows.
7. Safe deposit box inside the room.
Cons:
1. Since the hotel is located very near La Rambla where all the actions are, La Rambla is known to have frequent pickpockets but the hotel and the immediate areas are relatively safe.
2. There’s a fridge in the room but you cant really use it due to too many stuff inside that you have to pay for if you consume them.

This hotel was amazing for my first trip to Barcelona. I could not have asked for a better experience. The hotel was in an excellent location its walking distance from shopping, food, and exhibits. I was even able to walk to the clubs/ bars late a night right back to my hotel room. The staff is excellent. They were very helpful with any questions and nice with any request. They found out it was my birthday & brought me nice gifts. I would stay here again if I ever went back.

Stayed for 5 nights as a family of 4 with our two young girls (2 years and 5 months). The hotel staff went above and beyond to make our family comfortable: early check-in, gave our daughter bubbles upon arrival, helped carry our stroller up the steps, provided unique kids toiletries for the bathroom, etc. was such a nice touch. You can’t beat the location. You walk out the door and you have walkability to everything you need. We only had to take a taxi once, everywhere else we walked to!

The service provided at this hotel goes above and beyond. Happened to be here for my birthday - was greeted at breakfast with a “happy birthday” by the hostess, a serenade at the table with delicious chocolate cake, and returned to the room after a full day of touring to a bottle of champagne and fruit bowl, with a nice handwritten note. Very thoughtful and attentive experience.
The location is great, near many choices for bars and  restaurants, shopping and metro.
Rooms are good size and updated.
Breakfast buffet was excellent.
Highly recommend and will definitely stay here again on the next trip to Barcelona.
