While the location is fantastic and the staff was friendly and eager to do their best, there were a few things that made these accommodations a bit less than ideal.    But still a great place to stay if you are on a budget and looking for a solid location.

These are just some minor issues, but thought I would share... The lobby is really well designed but what you can't see is the slight sewer gas smell that permeated the this level of the hotel for the 4 days I was there.   Rooms are tiny so be warned - my room just had a bed and two small end tables.  Plus a good size bathroom.  It was dark and it was hard to control the temperature.  In addition, there was an issue with the door card keys, they would deactivate after one use, so multiple trips to the front desk to re-activate the keys.  This is a known issue beyond just my room and they are working to solve the issue...

Finally - the next door hostel began construction after I arrived and jack hammering started at 9:30am and ended around 6pm.  Thankfully I was not in my room most of the time and out exploring so it wasn't too bad, but made spending on time on their beautiful terrace not really appealing due to the very loud work being done.

Overall - hope they can work out these kinks and I also really liked their other properties which seemed a bit nicer and all hotels have different themes so worth checking out.

I really enjoyed my stay at Praktik Garden! I stayed in a single room and it was the perfect room for me (big bed!!!). The location was also really nice (very central but still in a quiet neighbourhood). There is free tea, coffee and muffins in the morning which i enjoyed. The only thing that dissapointed me a bit were the constructions that were going on in the room and hallway next to my door that started early in the morning..... But other than that i had a great stay!!!

Lovely, small hotel, well located.
Unfortunately 2 consecutive days we were woken up at 8am with drilling work from above and the same in the afternoon at 3.00pm.
This was very annoying,
On our check out at 9.00 am the receptionist was rude because we used one of the main doors to leave and a new wood floor had just been installed. There should have been a notice in the lift or by the door informing the guests not to use this door.
The tea / coffee on the first floor was a nice touch.

The bedroom was good as described. The bathroom was very large and with a window; we would liked to have it a bit warmer.
We liked very much the lounge where we had the opportunity to rest and to stay with friends. The little breakfast offered was also very appreciated,  a hot drink was really a wonderful start of the day.

I had a great time staying at the Garden Praktik hotel. My room was perfect, very comfortable bed, very nice bathroom. The room was well insulated (or the other guests were very polite, or both) and I slept really well. I was in a single room which is a small one but perfect for me as I was traveling light. I’d recommend if you have lots of luggages get a bigger room. The tea/coffee room is very nice too and there is also fresh water available h24. Big plus is the terrace, which is beautiful. All the people working there are very professional and friendly. I could even leave my carry on on a locker for free for a few hours after I checked out. I didn’t know when I reserved there how beautiful is the neighborhood where it’s at, it turned out to be my favorite area in Barcelona. The architecture of the buildings is so beautiful and you can walk easily anywhere and if you don’t want to, the meteo is just behind the corner. Last but not least, there are tons of great restaurants and nice cafes all around. To sum up, I would go back there 100% and I definitely recommend it!
