2 nights in between Christmas & new year. It’s a beautiful building, rustic bar area with a log burner and a stylish dining room with a fire too. Dinner offered 5 mains cooked well with quality ingredients we ate both nights! Excellent quality wines, real ale had a great selection and fab spirits. Plenty of walks around very tranquil and serene. Beautiful scenery

Called in for an unplanned lunch. Wow! It was such a lovely experience..all the way through. We had a table with an amazing view.
Great choice of wines and a tasty menu!
Good service..not too stuffy, treated with respect.  LOVED the quality of the food. And the portions were great..not too much. And beautifully presented.

Had an amazing lunch here on new year's day. Very attentive and accommodating staff. Top notch food, in another class from other pubs in the area. Come here for a real gastro treat and a warm welcome.

The perfect stop for a picturesque lunch surrounded by the stunning North Yorkshire Moors. We received a warm welcome and definitely recommend. The minced venison on dripping toast was incredible- as was the partridge, cabbage and quince. HIGH RECOMMEND.

(The cauliflower soup could done with a little more salt and the cheesy toast a touch of mustard but that’s being hyper critical).

We had a beautiful lunch here to welcome in the new year. The pub itself was quirky and cozy with a lovely fire going in the corner.

The food was stunning and the service provided by Alec was exemplary.

Food wise our standouts were:
- Twice baked leek and comté souflé
- potato gnocchi, creamed cavolo Nero, confit garlic and toasted walnuts
- pheasant scotch egg with mustard mayo

Can't recommend highly enough and look forward to coming back soon
