We had a guest in from out of town and decided to bring her to ONoir. What a delightful experience! Our server Ali was just absolutely lovely and was incredibly hospitable. It was just a great way to relax and enjoy some good food without any of our day-to-day distractions. The room itself was cozy warm (on an incredibly cold winter’s day) with very comfortable seating. They really do tend to all senses given that you cannot see anything during the entire experience. Highly recommend and will be going back with others!

What a great experience! To dine in complete darkness is such a unique experience that I recommend everyone trying. The food was delicious and we tried the surprise starters and desserts. Our server, Ali, was amazing! I definitely would return!

Last Saturday, I had a wonderful experience at ONoire. My father, who is almost completely blind, had heard about this restaurant and asked me to go. His hope was that it would help me better understand what he goes through every day.

From the moment we arrived, I was completely immersed in the experience. Our waiter (whose name I believe was Ali) was blind, yet he navigated the space effortlessly while I was completely lost in the darkness. My wife and I were both amazed by his ability to serve us with such confidence. It also gave me a new level of appreciation for what my father experiences every day.

Just for the record, the food was absolutely delicious. Every bite was full of flavour, and dining without sight was an interesting experience to say the least. To be honest, I had to use my hands a couple of times to find the food on my plate…Luckily nobody could see me!

When I recounted this experience to my father, he could not get his head around the fact that our waiter was blind and was able to do such a demanding job so well. To say he was impressed was an understatement. He even asked me to bring the rest of my family there just so they could have the same experience, and I absolutely will be doing that.

We visited O’Noir in Toronto, where the entire meal is eaten in complete darkness, served by blind or visually impaired waitstaff. Our server was phenomenal—navigating with ease, warmth, and confidence in a space where we could barely tell which way was up.

Eating in the dark stripped away all visual cues, making every flavor, texture, and sound more intense. Even simple tasks—like buttering a dinner roll—became a challenge. I somehow managed to get butter on the table, the plate, and my hands… but almost none on the actual roll.

It wasn’t just a meal—it was a deep sensory and emotional experience. For a brief moment, we stepped into a world where sight didn’t lead the way, gaining a small but powerful understanding of the daily challenges—and incredible strengths—of the blind community.

If you’re ever in Toronto, I highly recommend giving O’Noir a try. You’ll leave with more than just a full stomach—you’ll leave with a shift in perspective.

Walking into the space it felt like an old tavern, but nice and quiet. I made a mistake with my reservation, yet they were still able to accommodate the 2 of us. We were served by Ali who was lovely, and the food was delicious.

Really humbling as it me more insight on the challenges of being visually impaired. I'd suggest for the restaurant to host "blind" dating experiences, and maybe have some way of recording the experience for the diners entertainment after the meal.
