We stayed here Dec 27-31 and had a pleasant, comfortable experience.  The lobby was nice and inviting and the parking was easily accessible.  I liked the fact that it was connected to Ala Moana shopping center and away from crowded Waikiki.  No resort fee and parking fee was reasonable as well.  The room itself was comfortable, had a balcony and nice.  Being able to do laundry was nice, although the machines were always busy and some were broken.  Overall, we had a great stay and we'll come back again.  Front staff was also welcoming and very helpful.

The rooms were nice, the housekeeping staff was exceptionally good and friendly, and it's an excellent location just next to the Ala Moana mall.  Yes, it's a bit of a walk to Waikiki, but it's not unbearable.  The pool area could use some attention, and there's NO service for food or beverages offered poolside.

I really like this hotel. It is far enough from the chaos of Waikiki - but walking distance - and central for the restaurants and mall. Another great benefit is the car rental located inside the hotel for day trips or rentals for a couple of days. The people are all kind. The rooms are clean.

Location excellent for outer island residents with multiple medical visits to Queens/doctors, like us.  Starbucks on first floor excellent for fast breakfasts.  Ala Moana Mall excellent for other meals, either there or takeout for sitting on your hotel balcony.
Ala Moana rooms, as always, have needed renovation for many years.  Bathroom door bottom rotting out.  Old/dated furnishings.  Hideous/weird pictures on walls identical to all other rooms.  Housekeeping good, but they never clean the lanai/balcony tables - my wife always cleans them after we arrive.  Finally, we've stayed there probably at least two dozen times, and never get any benefits from their loyalty program.
All that said, we'll be back as we do NOT want to stay and pay for a Waikiki hotel room!!  We just wish the Ala Mona Hotel would get better.

Hotel was perfectly located for us with relation to the Honolulu Marathon start line and Ala Moana Shopping Center. Waikiki Beach was just a 20 minute walk away.

Our suite truly delivered on its promise of an ocean view and we enjoyed many cups of coffee out on our balcony taking it all in. We did notice that the room seemed a little dated, but understand a refurbishment is planned for 2025.

When we return to Honolulu we definitely plan on booking this hotel again!
