Absolutely amazing and far beyond what I expected. This place was truly magical with seven or eight different sub spheres of tropical vegetation highlighting different tropical forest areas around the world and was so incredibly well done, it was like walking through a magic wonderland. Mountain landscape in Central Lake areas and this would be truly impossible to beat. I took far too many pictures and fell in love with this place and will definitely have to go back. Perfect for families with kids or hikers wanting to explore

4 of 5 of the Honolulu Botanical Gardens. This is free. The place is pretty big & you can drive to each parking lot & there are a lot of opportunities for hikes. From the Visitors Center there is a short 10 minutes hike through a Garden to the lake. There are other longer & shorter hikes through the entire garden. We did 4 short hikes through the jungle like rain forests. There was plenty of shady walks as well as full sun walks.

There are beautiful picnic areas & places to camp. Perfect scenery for both. There is fish catch & release on weekends.

Sometimes you had to walk on the road back to the parking lots but it was safe & drivers were careful around bends.

I made a double trip to this place during my weekend in Oahu. It was an absolute must-see! The scenery was breathtaking, so peaceful and serene. When you drive in, be sure to snap some pics, and try to go when there aren’t too many cars in front of you. I’ll definitely be back!

Beautiful place. Entry is free, but there is a guy at the entrance who writes down the license plate number and asks if it's your first time there. The entire park can be driven through or you can stop and walk as you wish. The views are truly breathtaking. You can see lots of flowers, birds, fish in the lake

Absolutely beautiful and exquisite. Definitely recommend a visit. Can accommodate personal, small, or larger groups.

Parking is available in gardens. Bypass Lot 1 and go directly to Lot 2 to avoid sitting in idle traffic. Upon entry to gardens, the ranger will notate your vehicle plate and ask about your residency. There may be a few vehicles ahead of you, but the line moves quickly, 3-5min max.

The iconic drive through the gate will prompt you to get your camera out which honestly is fine, but keep moving. (You WILL get scolded.)

You can also walk in, but no need.

Personally have been a few times, and the grounds are consistently kept manicured. So much beauty to behold, regardless of how much time spent.
