We had the most amazing stay! The staff went above and beyond to make the birthday celebration feel truly special – from the thoughtful touches in the room to the warm wishes throughout our stay. Everything about the hotel was top-tier: the rooms were spotless, the ambiance was elegant, and every staff member we encountered was kind, professional, and welcoming. You can really feel the care they put into their service. We’re so grateful for the experience and can’t wait to come back again soon!

I recently stayed at the Sofitel in Chicago and, unfortunately, my experience did not meet expectations, especially considering the significant cost. I upgraded my room for an additional $100, but after about three hours in the room, I realized the heat wasn’t working. The thermostat showed a reading of 67 degrees, yet the room remained uncomfortably cold. I contacted staff after realizing the heat had never kicked on, and maintenance was sent to my room. The worker responded in a rather dismissive manner, claiming the heat was functioning properly, despite the cold room.

About 45 minutes after maintenance responded, I was moved to a different room that was significantly warmer and had functional heat. While I appreciated the quick relocation, having to gather all our luggage and move to a new room was still an inconvenience, especially considering the premium price of over $500 for one night, including the $100 room upgrade.

The hotel did offer a $25 refund as compensation, but this felt insufficient. Given the trouble I experienced with the room and the inconvenience of moving, I believe a full $100 refund for the upgrade would have been more appropriate.

The hotel itself is beautiful, and the staff were generally kind and welcoming. However, the issues with the room and the lack of a proper resolution left me dissatisfied. For the amount I paid, I expected a far higher level of service and comfort. Unfortunately, this stay did not reflect the value I anticipated.

Great location, wonderful comfortable rooms overlooking Chicago. Everything was perfect from the ease of reservation and check in to the convenience of the app which offered helpful connection to the hotel and suggestions for sight seeing. Our room was extremely clean and  comfortable, the neds and linens were very luxurious and it was lovely to have a selection of pillows.  Room service hours were excellent and the service was top notch.  We enjoyed our stay.  We did check out the exercise facilities which were also good.  There were even workouts for guests desiring different levels or types of exercise on convenient pamphlets using the equipment there.  I would stay there again for sure.

My wife and I really enjoyed our short weekend stay at the Sofitel Chicago-Magnificent Mile. The check-in and check-out process was smooth, and we were upgraded to a luxury king bedroom. The room was both spacious and well-appointed, and had a bath in the bathroom along with a shower. I have stayed at several hotels in the Gold Coast area, and Sofitel is definitely top-notch.

I had another excellent stay at this hotel—just as wonderful as my previous visits. The check-in process was seamless, and I was impressed by the staff’s attentiveness. When a line began to form, additional team members quickly stepped in to assist, ensuring no delays.

Our suite was ready upon arrival, and it was perfect—spacious, comfortable, and offering stunning views of downtown and the lake from 26 floors up. The location is unbeatable, conveniently close to fantastic shopping, bars, and restaurants.

The staff truly goes above and beyond, always ready to assist with a smile. I honestly can’t think of a single negative aspect about this hotel. It’s a gem, and I look forward to returning again soon!
