Really unique hotel in the sense that the rooms are designed to be minimal, but the lobby and restaurant feel very warm, welcoming and swanky.  I didn’t like the feel of the room - almost too void of any character or personality. The location is fabulous and so close to many great restaurants. We ate at the restaurant and had drinks also and it was all so good! Get the burrata appetizer!!

I stayed here for five days. I got zero nights good sleep.

My room was on the second floor, facing the Morgan and Carroll intersection. The road noise was intermittent but loud - passing loud motorcycles, loud trucks, and train horns were all crystal clear.  The internal hotel noise was loud: I could hear when my neighbors let their doors slam shut.  I could hear the squeaky floor when my upstairs neighbor walked around. I could hear the plumbing when my upstairs neighbors used the toilet or shower.  On my last night one of the cleaning staff started cleaning the sidewalk with a very loud motorized sidewalk cleaner *starting at 2 AM*, right outside my window.  The front desk was very understanding and immediately paused the cleaning when I pointed out I couldn't sleep from the noise.  I'm very grateful for that. Thank you very much front desk. Five stars for the quick response. But why did anyone think a loud motorized tool was a good idea to use at 2AM??

Outside of noise, the room was clean, but small and sparse.  For $256/night+taxes, I was surprised by the limited amenities. There was no included breakfast. There was no discount for the $21 rooftop movie theater, which is run by a third-party firm. There were two free cans of water on the first day, but for the rest of the stay, water was $5/bottle (and then they add $1 for restocking the water. What???).

Not sustainable: I came back every evening to a cleaned room but all the lights were left on and the window curtains pushed wide open.  The lights had been left on when housekeeping came by, and kept on all day. For a hotel with a sustainability push, this seemed counterproductive.

Strange: The ceiling still had chalk marks indicating how to install the lights and where there had been a leak. The window curtains pulls did not match. Photos attached.

This is not a fancy hotel. You are paying a high price just for the location. I do not recommend staying here.

Great hotel with nice lobby and cafe/eating area. Comfortable beds and pillows.  The shower is good sized and the body soap and hair stuff is wonderful. Food was better than expected too.   Not a five star due to the overall walking space around bed being a bit tight.  The closet opens up right into the bed, and it's hard to see yourself in the full bodied mirror unless you stand on top of the mattress.  Also, only 1 extra chair in room which is hard.  Ending on a positive note, the staff is top notch.  I'd  stay there again if in the area.

Our experience was amazing. We had 5 rooms and anything we needed was accommodated within minutes. Damon at the front desk helped to ensure that my nephew was across the hall, he went out of his way in anything we needed. Great customer service.  Breakfast was great. Good walking distant to everything. The only downside was our view.

I hosted an event at The Emily and we could not have been more impressed. I worked with Lindsey to set up the venue, catering, and bar and Julio the night of to execute o everything. The whole team was exceptional! The kindness, professionalism, and above-and-beyond attitude made this one of the best events I’ve ever done. I will be singing their praises to everyone who will listen and we will definitely be coming back!
