Arrived and only 1 person on reception so had a bit of a wait. 7 nights and tourist rate tax was $120 for 2 people so not as bad I expected. 5 lifts and all were working most of the time. Room 808 superior double is tiny. Wardrobe is very small too. There is a hair dryer which was ok to use.  Bathroom is tiny too. Clean bedding and towels every day. Not much of a view and windows could have done with a clean. There is a tv with quite a few channels on it. Really only slept there. There was a singer on one night downstairs and it was very busy. Never bought anything in bar. Went for a coffee every morning downstairs in the cafe. $6 for a cafe latte which was nice. Outside there is scaffolding but never seen anyone working on it. It’s situated 2 blocks away from Times Square. Handy for everything. Absolutely dreaded going as reviews made me ill but to be honest you get what you pay for. It’s clean and the beds are comfy. I wouldn’t go back but if you are booked then don’t worry it’s absolutely fine.

The lobby could be a bit quieter it doesn’t help the lobby is basically in the bar. The room I had was extremely small you walk in and you trip in the bed . Temperature is regulated so it was nice and warm however the heating keeps making weird sounds.
What I loved about it was the location. If you’re not too fussed about luxury hotel but want good location that’s the one for you.

We were in town for two nights. Our room had 6 beds (bunk beds). The location was ideal for quick access to Times Square. Everything you would want like food and seeing the sights was close by to the hotel. The room was clean. The front desk staff was nice. I knocked down the overall service due to housekeeping. We left our do not disturb sign on our door but the housekeeper barged in anyway while we were all sleeping and turned on the lights. My friend got out of the bed to shoo her off and she could hear the housekeeper giggling after she closed the door to our room. I am not sure if it was due to the volume of people in town for the New York fashion show, but when we got our towels restocked, we still did not have actual wash cloths. We were provided with nothing but big towels. As I said, they might have been low on the amount of wash cloths due to guest volume but something I wanted to note. I actually would consider staying here again whenever I visit again. It wasn’t horrible at all. The housekeeping was just not so great due to rudely barging in while we were sleeping with our “Do not disturb” sign hanging on our door. But that was also just one person and of course might not be indicative of how the rest of the housekeeping staff is. Other than that, I didn’t mind staying here. It was quiet at night where our room was located on the 3rd floor. I would stay here again. Lots of food nearby and super close to Times Square.

Paramount Hotel is perfectly located if your looking to be central to Times Square.  A quick walk and you are right in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Times Square.  Rooms are small (expected for NYC).

There is only 1 water and ice machine located on the 4th floor so if you're staying on a different floor you'll have to take the elevator or stairs up or down.

Elevators at times were a bit slow, it seemed as though if 4 elevators available, one was always out of service or stopped on a floor.

Didn't order any room service, but front desk/information was a bit lacking.  We had to check in late at 2a.m. due to delayed flights and when we called the hotel to reach the front desk, no one answered.  I had to call the reservation line who told me that they would make notes on my reservation that I was checking in late so they wouldn't cancel my reservation.  Notes were not made, but luckily, my reservation was not cancelled when I finally checked in at 2a.m.

Also seemed like staff weren't well informed of the services available.  There is an outgoing post office box next to the elevators that isn't locked but you can put letters and postcards in and then open (there is no key/lock). I initially asked if it was a working outbound post office box and the staff said no and that if we had any mail to send out we can just give it to them and they'll send it out for us. When I tried to hand them my post cards later that day, different front desk staff mentioned that we should put it in the previously mentioned mailbox and that housekeeping would pick it up and send it out.

Overall, this is a good, no frills hotel with a perfect central Times Square location .

My finance and I  stayed here last month and had the best time. We arrived extremely tired and jet lagged and I asked the lovely lady at the reception if she had any avaiable upgrades. I was delighted when she said she did and we got a beautiful room with a fantastic view. No issues at all.
The hotel has such a classic vibe with a modern twist and we will only stay here from now on when visiting NY. The bar staff were also fantastic and extremely friendly mixing delicious strong cocktails as soon as we got there. My only negative really is the elevators can take ages and often break. But there is a secret elevator you can use 😉
If you are a light sleeper take ear plugs as you can hear the hustle all night from the street.
I urge everyone not to believe the negative comments online regarding The Paramount. I have stayed in many hotels all over the world and this one was fantastic. Perfect location and very clean!! Thanks to all the staff and we will see you again
