Hotel lobby nice, staff excellent, food very good. We were here for my 25th wedding anniversary, decided all 3 couples would purchase the Premier Club Rooms, so we have access to the Club Lounge. This was a highlight on the 19th floor. Food was excellent, staff were brilliant (thank you Tina) and breakfast down stairs excellent.

Room was oldish with no USB ports, scuff marks on the walls (fair wear and tear I guess). We were suppose to get a bowl of fruit in our package but only 1 out of the 3 rooms received this.

The term Free mini bar items is very misleading. No alcohol, just x1 diet coke, x1 coke, x1 sprite and a juice. No milk, just dry packet creamer which is horrible, also tiny cups to drink out of. There is no ice machine anywhere on the 19 floors so you have to annoy the Club lounge or restaurants.

In summary, if it wasn't for the Club lounge which costs a bomb to get ($800 extra) this review would have been harsher. Staff brilliant, room average, food awesome. Luckily, we used the Club lounge as dinner and we certainly got our monies worth of alcohol, as a glass of wine on the street is about S$15.

Stayed 3 nights.  Room 919.

1st night - all pillow covers had strong sour unclean smell.  Requested new pillows.  Not available.  Can only change covers.  Covers changed and smell appeared to have gone.  The next day, requested bed linen to be changed by placing bed linen change card on the bed.

2nd night- went to bed at 2am.  Initially thought the sour smell was my imagination from what happened the first night.  Sniffed the bed.  Sour smell now coming from newly changed pillow covers AND BED SHEETS.  Not as strong smell as first night.  It was 2am.  I was too tired to call housekeeping for linen change in the early hours of the morning.  Woke up next morning with sour smell on clothing.  Called housekeeping in the morning to mention specific problem and requested bed linen change again.

3rd and final night - all bed linen smelled clean for the first time.

Hotel in great location close to shops and transport.  However, would not recommend due to unclean smelling bed linen.  First impressions are important.  We spend about 1/3 (8 hours) of our day sleeping.  I expect better from a 4 stars hotel, especially when it comes to standards for basic things like bedding.

We stayed there for four days. The hotel is centrally located. Staff are courteous and the service was excellent. I would like to specially mention Thiva for his excellent service. The housekeeping staff did a fantastic job. Room service was quick. The bell boys were on point. It was a pleasant stay and we hope to be back soon.

Great hotel great location.
One of the best ways to review a hotel is their ability to sort out issues that arise.
Our issues were sorted out with a minimal amount of inconvenience
And special thanks to Darren Ware for all his efforts.
Will definitely be returning on our next visit

A lovely hotel in an upmarket area of the city between Chjimes and Raffles Hotel. There is a feeling of quality in this area, and the Carlton Hotel certainly exuded that. Everything about it was excellent but I would particularly point out the pool area which was so relaxing and also the gym which was fitted with state of the art machines but also free weights.
Although a very large hotel and a little impersonal, I would highly recommend it and would definitely stay here again.
