Sagetsu by Tetsuya. Chef Tetsuya Wakuda, the Japanese-born chef, who embarked on his gastronomic journey in Sydney in 1982, brings his modern Japanese flair to Dubai with Sagetsu.
I will not talk about the sleek design of the restaurant nor the flawless service. I will just focus on the food.
Sagetsu offers chef’s tasting menus of 5, 7 and 9 courses in addition to a la cart option. Portions are generous for a tasting menu.
The focus is on high quality ingredients is very evident combined with French cooking techniques and presentation. The result is a true culinary excellence. There was not a single dish that failed to impress us. The Botan Shrimp – a medley of Hokkaido sea urchin and Oscietra caviar inside an urchin shell was insanely delicious. I thought I was going to be disappointed with the dessert, I mean chocolate mousse! Yet it was exceptionally delicious and light.
This was the best dining experience I had in Dubai so far. Sagetsu is raising the bar in Dubai’s fine dining scene.

One of the best restaurants I like in this hotel. Very quiet, few tables, decorated and arranged like eating in your own living room with your family, a great experience, the dishes are very delicate, the two sakes are also unique and my favorite is beef rice.

We had the 11 course set dinner. Quality of the dishes are top notch but very pricey. Service is outstanding. Decor of restaurant is simple, with nice view of burj khalifa and city skyline. They made a very nice arrangement to celebrate my wife birthday and our wedding anniversary.

Located on the 24th Floor of the One&Only One Zabeel, inside The Link Dubai, Sagetsu boasts a menu that wonderfully blends the worlds of astronomy and gastronomy, fusing elements recalling the moon and sand. Created by Chef Tetsuya Wakuda, you can expect to be treated to some incredible food. He combines the precision of Japanese cooking with the techniques of French cooking using fresh and high quality ingredients. Our menu for the evening was the GHIN Chef’s Menu priced at AED1450 - and we loved it. It’s hard to choose a favorite dish but if we really had to - our top three would have to be the Botan Shrimp, Carpaccio of wild Japanese bluefin tuna and the warm Alaskan king crab salad. Phenomenal!

We loved the full experience, interesting and delicious dishes. My friend loves Sake and she appreciated the selection they have. We had set menu and starting from first dishes (fish soup, caviar soup, side of truffle butter with a bun..) to apple/pear dessert all was really well prepared. If you’re looking for Japanese fine dining with a quiete nice atmosphere in zen interior that’s the place!
