A little pearl on the riviera ligure. Portofino is nice in all seasons but I reccomend you to visit it during the week and in spring or autumn as it is less crowded and you can feel better the atmosphere.

Beautiful square - absolutely recommended. Parking at the parking building around can be busy and expensive.

But the bustling square is well recommended a visit.

Probably nice 40 years ago. Let me put it like this: One bar around the harbour had lager on its menu for €20. No indication on size of glass which probably means it's going to be small and small here is 0.2 ltr (a half in the UK is 0.284 ltr) We settled in a hotel terrace overlooking the harbour, a half lager here (0.2 ltr) just €16 Euro. I decided on the single
G&T instead at €28 euros. Portofino Gin and very nice it was, but at these prices  it's a bit like the income tax analogy. At 100% income tax no one will pay it, at €16 to €20 for a half lager etc only the financially daft or desperately thirsty will pay it.
The economic madhouse...............
