Comme a la maison.  This is what you call a hidden gem.  The restaurant focuses on food and drinks from South Western France. The chef is  a pure worksman, makes the same old food over and over and over again to perfection.  More like an old style sushi chef back in the days.  Their glistening Ratatouille is just damn perfect, packed with flavor, rich concentrated umami and each vegetable cooked separately to perfection. Tripes a la Gascogne was so tender and rich flavor from the broth and amazing. Wine list from south east France is quite big and reasonable, and their collection of vintage Armagnac is just so nice. One of my best places to go for a pure authentic French experience.

The owner chef has no idea or intention publicizing the place. Just focus on making his perfect food only and that has made the place well known among some Japanese people with a big palate, and the place was full, but I actually was able to make a last minute reservation. This place deserves more.

Very nice small French restaurant, exceptionally gracious and friendly service. Only two gentlemen in the restaurant who serve and cook, had a nice ‘family’ atmosphere to it! A nice spot in the area!

What a delightful discovery! We truly enjoyed our dinner at the Comme a la Maison tonight. Reservation at this cosy restaurant is highly recommended, what with only about 20 seats. Everything we tried, from the Noir de Bigorre ham, terrine de campagne, stuffed piquillos to the Garbure Landaise and tripes were superbly cooked and presented. In fact, we agree that the taste is even better than many restaurants in France. With such limited seating, we were really tempted to keep this gem to ourselves. However, the good work of the friendly chef who trained under a Landes chef and the great service provided by the young gentleman should be commended. When you are dining at this restaurant, close your eyes and you think you are having a home cooked meal back home in France!

As a French I can assure you that it’s “as at home” (name of shop in French ;) ) the food is really French traditional and better than the average of the French restaurants in France !
