Bad service, great view, tasty food. There are better options if you prefer, try Didyme (great view) or nni lausta (great secluded terrace upstairs) - better experience, food and value.

About our time at Porto bello…

We were the first to arrive at 730//745pm without reservation and took one of the last available tables. We ordered a bottle of wine and watched the staff send one of the waiters with our wine to a table who just arrived and had not ordered - as a joke not because it was his first day and messed up (I asked). One of the pasta dishes arrived like warm, but tasty.
Most of the staff were just interested in chatting to themselves and making fun of their early guests - I could understand a few words. Enough to understand a little of what they said and confident that they should know better.

There was one waiter that seemed nice, and perhaps the owner but the general staff vibe wasn’t good. Perhaps better as a dance/night club later in evening

Not sure why reviews are so low, the food was fantastic! The best Spaghetti Al Fuoco we’ve tried on an island! Everything we had was flavoursome, fresh and just stunning. Went 2 days in a row.

We ate at this restaurant 3 times while we were in Salina.  The pizza restaurant is excellent. Some of the best I had on our trip.  The cannolis were also delicious.  We ate lunch ant their other restaurant and tried some pasta.   It was also very good.  Would definitely go back.  Not sure why they only have 4.2 stars.

Food wasn't special. Swordfish rolls were dry and tasted like white bread without any spices. The price was quite high but the portion was tiny.

Came with perhaps too much of an expectation.. After all I had some amazing dinners in Sicily and this came recommended as the best spot in the Eolic Islands!

Food itself was sadly underwhelming, albeit hospitality was very good and so was the scenery.

I'm sure a bad day can just happen as it all came out cold, both my pasta al fuoco and the clams pasta... And the swordfish rolls.. Which are usually a sure hit!

Starters were ok but not quite a knockout, expecially the tuna salad. Desserts strangely were disappointing too! 😨 The cassata and the pistacchio cake were waaay too sweet ...

What a pity!
