Just dropped in for afternoon refreshment after a day meandering around Siena delights and warmly welcomed by the concierge, even though we weren't staying there. This hotel is something else! Beautiful inside, staff all smiles. It is as luxurious as their media pages look. Now I need to find a reason to come back again. Thank you.

We stayed for one night and had adjoining rooms. The communication before arrival was excellent as I had some questions about arrival and options, and we had a very friendly check-in! The rooms are clean and they have great bathroom products, and VERY comfortable beds and pillows. AND THE AIR CONDITIONING IS AMAZING! The location is also the best- right in the middle of great shops and restaurants, and a quick 4 minute walk to Piazza Di Campo!

Highly recommend! Plus their bar is open late!

This pains me to write this as I rarely leave reviews. However, someone figuring where to spend their hard earned money on vacation should know the details. Our family stayed here on our vacation.  We were met by an outstanding staff that was attentive and full of smiles, the lobby was immaculate, inviting and smelled amazing. The over all location is superb if you want to be in the heart of Sienna around all the action. Aside from that, our rooms were astonishingly bad for a place of this “rating”. Our family had 5 rooms at $700-ish per night for 5 nights so we were appalled at what we got for the pricing. Cracks in the walls, dust sitting in the lights, dust on the fabric head board, the carpet was repulsive, holes in the walls, cracked moulding, missing paint, rusty shower head, the tv didn’t work and more. We had to go out and buy air fresheners the rooms smelled so bad. I’ll let the pictures speak for itself but unfortunately this is FAR from the 5 star rating they boast about. To be clear this isn’t a people problem as the staff was great but this is a management problem and we were astonished!

This was our last and unfortunately the worst one out of the four hotels we stayed at during our honeymoon trip. I personally don’t think the Grand Hotel maintained the qualities a 5-star boutique hotel should have.
The positive part is that the hotel is located in the heart of Siena, making it easy to visit all the attractions within minutes of walk. But the location is also its downfall given how outdated the building is. It has been a while since I saw a hotel with analog thermostats. The floors felt dirty, as there were visible stains. Heated towel racks were leaking water and sprayed water all over the towels when I tried to adjust the rack. Worst of all, the windows do not seal shut whatsoever and we could hear everything going on outside. Multiple guests have mentioned this problem in their review yet the issue remains neglected. During both nights of our stay we were woken up by people chattering outside. In fact, we wrote this review at 12:09 am, as we struggled to fall back asleep due to people chanting outside. Not the best way to finish our honeymoon trip…
The service was no better. The housekeepers would ring the bell and barge in not even two seconds after, leaving no time for us to react. We put up the "Do Not Disturb" sign after that since we wanted to rest after a long drive, but another housekeeper barged in again despite the sign on the door. I was going to leave a 2-star review but gave the third star because some of the reception staff members were very kind and made the experience somewhat better.

Edit: I appreciate the hotel taking the time to respond but it quite baffles me that the first reaction from the hotel is to place the blame on the guests…

The easiest 5-star rating I have ever given. This hotel is located in the heart of Siena with easy access to everything you wish to see. This is an outstanding hotel and I cannot speak highly enough. Trust that you will not regret booking here and will have a sublime stay.
