Ta Prohm, the temple in the tomb raider movie,  a beautiful place to visit and walk through the ruins of this once grand temple,  the silk cotton trees that grow on and around the temple have an amazing root structure which adds to the majesty of this ancient structure,  it is simply stunning.  This has got to be one of the best places I have visited in Cambodia,  the temples throughout this country are simply stunning

We joined a local tour, and the second stop was a visit to this legendary temple.

The reason this proverb felt familiar to me is because I saw it in a scene from the movie Lara Croft: Tomb Raider back in 2001, so I was very excited to visit this place.

Compared to Angkor Wat, I prefer this site. The reason is that it has a vast natural landscape that blends seamlessly with the temple. The way the trees grow here is very unique, and our tour guide had excellent photography skills, so we took many photos.

I highly recommend visiting this place to experience its sense of mystery in a tranquil setting.

Walking through its maze-like corridors and open courtyards feels like discovering a lost city frozen in time. Ta Prohm is well-preserved in its 'natural state,' offering a unique glimpse into the past while showcasing the incredible resilience of Khmer architecture.

It’s a peaceful, almost spiritual experience that leaves a lasting impression. Ta Prohm is a highlight of the Angkor complex and an absolute must-visit for history lovers, nature enthusiasts, and adventurers alike!

This particular temple is impressive since it’s being overgrown by nature and as the signs explain, it was a very delicate balance between conservation and keeping the new overgrown vegetation. If I remember correctly this was done by the Indian government, well done to them. Definitely one of the main temples worth visiting.
