The food was fantastic in the past, but something has changed. Everything seems to taste odd. The meat I had ordered was great, but it tasted funny towards the end. Enrique's service was excellent. And ambiance was breezy sweet chill. I might have to think twice of going back.

The place was very nice, with authentic Mexican decor that makes you feel like you're in. The service was excellent, and the drinks we tried were delicious. Although we didn't have the opportunity to try the food because we were just passing through, it's definitely a place I'd like to visit again to enjoy their cuisine.

After our visit to as hoc, our server gave us gift cards to visit La Calenda. We stopped on our way out of town and wish we would have come earlier so we could have come twice. We split queso with chorizo (ate before pictures could be taken), al pastor quesadilla, and elote. Along with hibiscus and spicy margaritas. The al pastor is out of this world: crunchy, flavorful, and tender. And the elote was perfectly charred and smothered without being overwhelming. Visiting la Calenda just makes me realize how bland and static Mexican restaurants have become. A must visit on any visit to the Napa Valley.

Once again, amazing service makes a good meal great. Leyda went above and beyond to make sure we had a great meal - thank you! We went early on a Wednesday and ended up eating only apps - the potato flautas recommended by our server Leyda were delicious and hot. And I was thrilled so much of their menu is gluten-free - if I remember right, the desserts and then the Caesar salad croutons. So a much smaller risk of cross contamination than most restaurants. I got a quesadilla - my first in literal years - and the tortilla was soft and pliable, just the way I wanted it; the al pastor flavor came across, with oodles of cheese. Leyda said the tortilla corns change seasonally, if I understood her right - that's really cool, and a reason to go back. It did get a little loud as we were leaving but it's a family friendly joint so that was expected and honestly nice after many days in hushed wineries!

I really wanted to like this place.  Fish tacos,  were dry, over sauced to make up for bad fish. My friend said Del Taco has better fish tacos. The tacos al pastor were saucey as well but greasy at the same time.  Sopes were bland and the bottom part was so hard I could have played Frisbee with it.  Margarita was basic basic. The paloma was very sweet which is odd especially since it alcohol was mezcal. Restaurant is beautiful looking,  everyone is friendly, but the food is a no.
