First meal upon touchdown 🛬 I loved it! the lemongrass beef jerky is in a class of its own. I didn’t get to try the bao but it looked so good. The WINGS chile. I’d go back just for the wings. The ribs were okay, I don’t think I need to have them again. Same for the dessert. The drink selection is very impressive and I even got to keep this nice glass. I’ll be back!

Cute place love the overall vibe of it, i ordered the 2nd soup on the menu and the meatball appetizer. The soup had a real clean taste to it, the meatballs were a little flavorless except for the sauce on the outside of it. My friend ordered the coconut curry soup i only tried the broth, and the broth was very flavorful. While i probably wouldn’t visit this one again, if i did I would try the coconut curry soup.

This Lao restaurant is amazing! The food, like the papaya salad and larb, is full of fresh, tasty flavors. Every dish looks great, and the staff is really nice. The cozy setting makes it a perfect spot to eat. I highly recommend it! Five stars!

Very nice atmosphere and service. The Curry Ribs were really juicy and flavorful! The Kapoon Nam Gai soup was spicy and I liked that the only thing is that they put big chunks of ginger, not just one but like 5 big pieces, they also put in it leaves that weren’t chewable nor edible. The Milk tea was really helpful for spicy, it tasted fine. The Laab Rice dish taste nice, but had a lot of jalapeños, so if you want to eat more jalapeño than the actual meat then order it. The Khao Piek Sen soup was great, the broth, noodles and veggies inside were really good!

One of my favorite meals of the year. Everything I ordered was a hit. I felt lucky to have Laotian food executed at this level. In two words: pungent and chewy. And the food was unmistakably Southeast Asian.

The pork tapioca dumplings had the chewy texture of great boba with a slightly sweet pork filling and a lot of fried garlic on top. It reminded me of one of my favorite breakfast dishes I had growing up, though our version used jicama instead of pork. Dishes that evoke memories tend to be our favorites.

The lemongrass beef jerky was soft and, again, chewy in a way that’s like the midpoint of American jerky and velveted beef. Lots of lemongrass as advertised in the name. Perfect amount of salt that lets the meat release flavors and juices with each bite. I’m salivating thinking about it.

The larb’s flavor profile is similar to the Thai version with lots of onion, scallion, cilantro, lime, and toasted rice. This one was served with sticky rice, the soul of Lao food. The pork belly was boiled for less time compared to other cuisines so it remains chewy instead of meltingly soft.

Everything was so affordable. I was pleasantly surprised at how much food I got for the price. And the flavors are much better than you’d find at many fancy restaurants. Strong recommend.

Vi bestämde oss för att prova denna nya (öppnade februari 2018) Laotian Street Food restaurang för lunch på en söndag. Det ligger på Colonial Drive men har gott om parkeringsplatser bredvid och bakom restaurangen. platsen är liten och välkomnande, trendiga små bänkar och bord som sätts samman för att bilda ett långt bord. Vi beställde på räknaren, och Kevin (kocken med ägare) var bemanning räknaren vid den tiden och var mycket hjälpsamt förklarar hur man beställer samt beskriver objekten på menyn. Vi beställde klibbiga riset (det här är en häftklammer eller bas), sedan tillsattes nötköttet jerky och en annan nötkötträtt samt den rekommenderade salladslindan med krispigt ris. Vi fick ett nummer och valde vårt bord. De har en station för självbetjäningsvatten, även för att tvätta händerna (om man vill äta med händer som är vanlig praxis). De har också redskap tillgängliga om det behövs. Bordet hade en rulle pappershandduk, några handdukar och papper / kartongplattor. Alla engångsartiklar. Vår beställning kom snabbt och Kevin tog tid att förklara hur man äter och njuter av maten.
