Surprisingly tasty for what they describe! Got the Reggie, which is literally just a biscuit sandwich, but wow, they've perfected every element. The fried chicken was incredibly tender and juicy. A lot of care was taken to marinate this chicken well in advance. The biscuit was also amazing. Had that nice crust, but nice, fluffy and warm after you bite into it. The gravy to finish things off was just excellent. Not overpowering and married the components together. The food is just wonderful! Definitely worth stopping at one of their many locations for a bite!

Food is excellent! Always a treat. The seating area is comfy outdoors too. If you’ve never been here before, few things to know before you go:

You order at a counter.
You pour your own coffee.
You get your own water.
You get your own utensils (seriously. They bring the food out with no utensils, you’re expected to get up and grab your own from a bin)
You bus your own table.

All that’s fine, but if you’re like me and only tip for service, know there really isn’t any here. The food is excellent and worth every penny, but tipping for no service makes no sense to me personally. I tipped the first time I went here a few years back and felt a little robbed. Didn’t make that mistake again. Totally worth coming here regardless for the weirdness and the biscuits are really amazing! Good vegetarian options, too.

Good food. Decent atmosphere. For $26 per meal, we were not impressed with the fact that we have to order at the counter, refill our own coffee, clean our own tables, and “tip” employees who only came to our table once with our orders.

Even Denny’s was more affordable and their servers were more attentive, refilling our coffee and drinks, etc….

Also, for a restaurant in a gentrified neighborhood that is historically black, you would think the staff would include black employees. There were none during our service.

While we are major “support local” patrons, I would think twice about eating here again. Once is good enough to get the hype because the food is good enough. However there are better, more inclusive local restaurants to support.

That said, the food is the only reason why I’m giving this place 4 stars.

Very cute spot with excellent biscuits!
My friends really enjoyed their biscuits and gravy, I got a biscuit with apple butter that was fabulous and a blueberry basil poptart. The poptart filling and crust were great but the basil glaze threw me off and I didn't enjoy that aspect.

They have indoor and outdoor seating, the staff were friendly and we definitely enjoyed our morning there.

These biscuits are absolutely awesome. They've got a bunch to choose from and they serve some beers, and bloody mary's as well.

The biscuits and gravy was excellent, although very heavy. The biscuits will fall apart as you eat them, I don't see how they can't. Once you realize that, it turns into more of a scrambled biscuit plate, which is just fine, cuz it's all going to the same spot anyway.

This was so good it made me want to inquire about franchising one down here in Las Vegas. I didn't, but I wanted to.

Riktigt goda kex. Smakade som en bättre version av ett pillsburykex och något större men liknande konsistens som de där tubkexen. Korvsås hade bra smak och var lite tunnare än en traditionell sydländsk sås vilket jag gillade. Spreads är grymma. Provade pimentoost och sylt båda utmärkta. Vänlig service. Hyfsade priser.

Trots en väntan är maten utsökt. Serveringarna är enorma och det är en helt tillfredsställande frukost eller brunch. Rekommenderar räkor & gryn och självklart är kexen fantastiska!

Fantastiska kex! Jag är en sydländsk tjej och älskar ett gott sött te! De gjorde ingen besviken. Den perfekta mängden sötma. Jag älskar att prova stekta gröna tomater varje gång jag ser dem på en meny. Var inte lika galen i dem. De var ok men inte något jag skulle beställa därifrån igen. Jag är väldigt kritisk till korvsås. Där jag kommer ifrån är salt och peppar de enda 2 kryddorna som används. Sedan vi bodde i PNW har det varit en utmaning att hitta den perfekta såsen. De flesta ställen lägger till ytterligare kryddor och det är bara inte för mig. Det är en fanfavorit jag har märkt. Pine State sås liknade vad jag har upplevt på andra restauranger. Beställde en klyftsallad som ska komma med bacon, stekt lök och blåmögelostdressing. . . nämnde inte att de tog slut på den stekta löken och la ranchdressing istället för blåmögelostdressing. . . måste ha tagit slut på den också. Mitt barnbarn beställde bringa istället för kyckling på sitt kex och det var rent fett!

Hustru och son kom med mig på denna mattur i Portland. Efter en fantastisk måltid på Le Pigeon kom vi hit för Reggie-smörgås till frukost.

Stekt kycklingsmörgås serverades med bacon och bleuost var en fantastisk smörgås. Hönan var en stor skink med 2 skivor tjock bacon. Parkering var lätt och medan den inre delen av restaurangen var snäv, finns det en täckt uteplats som hade en stor sittgrupp. Kaffe var trevligt och starkt och färskpressad apelsinjuice kom i ett generöst högt glas.

Detta är ett populärt ställe av goda skäl: maten är fantastisk! Kakor och sås är en specialitet. Restaurangen är avslappnad och mycket upptagen, så var beredd att vänta i rad.

Stora kex. Väldigt gott. Avslappnad atmosfär. Bar- och bordssittplatser med uteplats finns tillgänglig. Prova det, du blir inte besviken.

Besökte min bror och vi stannade där för lite kex och sås. Allt på menyn såg fantastiskt ut. Allt vi fick var fantastiskt. Jag rekommenderar definitivt om du letar efter något som är ganska fyllande.

Besökte Pine State-besök på rekommendation från en kollega och en vän och jag blev inte besviken! Menyn var helt överväldigande med läckra måltider att välja mellan. Restaurangen är ganska mycket själv tjäna / välja dina platser inne eller ute som jag tyckte var cool.

Eftersom jag inte kunde välja någon av personalen föreslog Chatfield som var kyckling, bacon, ost och äppelsmör på en nygjord kex. Fick också en sida av sina Hashups som var hashbruna toppade med smält ost, svamp och grillad lök. Vilket sätt att toppa det än med en mimosa och limonad att gå.

Smörgåsen: allt tillagades till perfektion! Alla smaker komplimangerade varandra väl och den smörgåsen var borta innan jag kunde blinka

The Hashups: Kan lätt vara en huvudrätt med hur mycket de ger dig! Återigen gjordes hashbrowns till perfektion, krispiga på utsidan, mjuka på insidan och perfekt kryddade!

Bonus: personalen kastade av misstag bort mina rester men skickade mig tillbaka till mitt hotell med flera kex och salta kanelrullar som var tillräckligt stora för att delas av 3 personer! Älskade denna plats och skulle definitivt rekommendera det!

Jag hade kex och gravy, hennes fästman hade Reggie kex smörgås (stekt kyckling, bacon & ost toppad med sås) och en blodig Mary, och vi delade en order av hash browns. Allt var helt utsökt och super tillfredsställande. Platsen var packad till frukost - alltid ett gott tecken! Linjen flyttades dock snabbt och vi var in och ut i tid. Om jag bodde i Portland skulle jag förmodligen vara regelbunden här.
