Great all round.

Top class service. Quick and efficient. Cuisine is fantastic. None of the stagnant bocadillos you see lingering in glass containers all day like other bars. This is fresh cuisine straight from the open kitchen  which makes fantastic viewing.

We had a bunch of plates, including the tuna, beef, squid, peppers and goat cheese.

We got too full to try everything, so maybe keep your plates smaller and try more would be my recommendation. Either way, you will enjoy.

You will be in and out quite quickly. It’s not a place to hang around.

Willing to do anything for great amazing food ?
Challenge accepted?
Try ordering food at the smallest tapas bar in SS, overcrowded by tourists,  then eating it standing up and being bumped from the sides and back.
Worth it ?
We did come 2x in 2 days. We did order the same exact order of the suckling pig (18e) and razor clam(15e).
Best food you can find here in SS because they cook everything on the spot and not a microwave reheat like most places... Nice warm hot and juicy.
Don't have the wine here, have it across the street where they have better wine and better prices.
Be prepared to jump to the front counter and raise your hands waiting for them to notice you. Otherwise, this place isn't for you.
Recommended for the true tapas bar experience with great food! Menu in Spanish only so prep that google translate app.

Often with a queue outside and packed, standing room only within - unless you are one of the very lucky few to grab a table outside. No point in complaining so just embrace the chaotic atmosphere! Certainly worth the wait for their cooked fresh to order pintxos. Everything we tried was sublime!

Perhaps some of the best food you will ever eat standing up. The service is friendly and efficient and the quality of the cookery is standout. I’ve done some of the bigger names in the area but that octopus dish was the best octopus cooking our group had tasted in recent memory, perhaps ever.

I’m a lazy guy but this is one of the few places on earth I don’t mind standing for 2 hours to savour the  pintxos (bar snacks). If you’re not scared of crowds, and are willing to let your hair down, you can get to have one of the most memorable gastronomic experiences that you can get in Europe. The staff is one of the friendliest I have met in Spain, and the blood sausage, octopus and pork ear are hands down 11/10 dishes.

I truly do not understand why this bar/restaurant is not raved about more. This is why you have to take negative reviews with a grain of salt, this is one of the best restaurants I have ever been to. The service 10 out of 5. The ribeye is a 15 out of 5. The atmosphere is incredible. And listen up, the basque cheesecake is by far the best cheesecake I have had in my entire life.

Came here after dinner just to taste their well-known Basque burnt cheesecake. You can see from the people inside and outside of the restaurant that most are here to taste this cheesecake.
It’s good but I would say not the best cheesecake I’ve had. I would say cheesecake in Japan that I’ve tasted is better to my preference. It all depends on your own preference of what is a good cheesecake.

The basque cheesecake seems to still be clumpy and not as soft as I thought it would be. Interesting, I brought it back to the hotel and refrigerated it. The next morning, the texture tasted better.

Still give it a try as it is a very popular spot and needs to be on your bucket list when visiting San Sebastián.

La Viña’s tarta de queso was DELICIOSO.  It was worth the five year wait (because of COVID).  The atmosphere of the restaurant is hectic whatever time of day you visit.  But be patient and friendly, the staff will service you with a smile and in an efficient manner.

The restaurant is extremely popular because of its exceptional food, they are truly out of this world!!! The monkfish and beef were outstanding, and everyone loved the calamari and ham. The cheesecake OMG…I’m not a fan of cheesecakes generally but I LOVED their Cheesecake, best ever! It was very creamy and delicious.

We had a really delicious cheesecake. However, what made us leave the place happy was the smiling face and energy of Miguel, who was in charge of our service.
