Ate lunch here with a small group.  Food was delicious.  The group had the pork, dumpling sampler and soup.Lemonade and cider were good choices to match our meal.  Service was excellent.  Enjoyed the atmosphere of sitting on the plaza

restaurant in the very center, unusual interior with samovars, bears and other things. But the cuisine was not very impressive, the atmosphere was not very pleasant - heavily drunk men were loudly swearing, I did not like the tinctures. I expected more from this restaurant. The dumplings were delicious.

Located on the main square next to the City hall this restaurant offers traditional russian food. Service welcomes you friendly, if you are enough, no reservation is needed. The menu offers many meat dishes including bear meat, but also fish. There is only one vegetarian option though. I started with a Borschtsch soup, which tasted excellent. Then I went for a typical Russian stew with Tons of meat and a greasy Sauce  served in a bread. Was ok, but I expected something different. Definitely a visit worth.

Growing up with R. food I kind of had some expectations. This was surprisingly authentic - and I'm including the cultural surroundings (getting the tea in a glass, having wodka not without sakuski, the cheese coming with a strawberry jam, etc.). The decor is a bit overly authentic R. but works very well with the atmosphere so this was good. The staff is very friendly (especially if you speak the language) and helpful. Also fast and have good recommendations.
The food was tasty. It's not cheap but I recommend it. Very good location directly next to the town plaza.

We tried the bear meat dumplings and the grilled chicken and mashed potatoes and were not disappointed! The staff were patient with us and explained things in English and everything was fantastic. The views of the town square outside the restaurant were beautiful. Definitely would come back!
