Felt like stepping back in time. You could spend hours here walking around, the palace and surrounding grounds/buildings are stunning. It was busy but not hectic so you are able to sit down and take it all in — a good first stop after a long haul flight. There are a few free guided tours in English during the day, but our timing didn’t line up.

In November, I went to a famous place for the first time in Korea. There is an event about every 30 minutes, and you can see people marching in Korean formal attire. If you wear a traditional Korean dress, you can enter the palace for free. The palace is very large, and walking around it is very tiring. The leaves were changing color, and everyone was taking pictures and doing whatever they wanted, so it was a comfortable space.

The palace is great, and all but the biggest issue would be the sheer number of people at any given time. It's hard as a photographer to capture alluring and meaningful images when there are just hundreds of tourists or visitors. But if you visit just for the sake of visiting, then it's a nice glimpse into history.

After checking the displayed timetables, we headed there at 2pm. the parade was really amazing. It lasted about 20 minutes. Really interesting and very impressive. Also the palace is really beautiful. One of my favorite castles.

This is another one of those huge palace that you can explore and spend the whole day. This is the most famous and you have to come and see it for yourself. FYI, if you rent the hanbok dress for the day, you will get free admission to the palace (but keep in mind that the rental is not free).
