Called in a few hours before home game . The atmosphere was pretty lively,  everyone was thoroughly enjoying the craic...The service was fairly  good , didn't spend too long at the bar waiting for drink, so would say the management did well in this respect.  Hope to be here back again in the near future....its a must visit a few hours before the game for the atmosphere & the songs ...Really sets the tone before heading down to the stadium. 👍💚☘️💚⚽️😎

Quiet on a Monday lunchtime, but the warm welcome promised by the owners was there, and appreciated. Set in a run-down but fantastically historic part of town, anyone who remembers the giant animated / illuminated Harris Brushes sign (from the 50s maybe to the late 70s?) will understand, and the evidence of more affluent Victorian times is still here if you lift your eyes above the inevitable vape and kebab shops. Step off the tram and go for a pint, they deserve your support.

I’ve not been in the tollgate for a very long time at all.I would say that the food and service is very good,But I cannot turn round and say that I have had had anything to eat from the tollgate,Otherwise I would of said so.

A must prematch. Sure there are other places but this is a proper sing song so if you want to learn a few new ones, go here. Beer is decently priced, nothing silly. Washrooms are a bit rough but what do you expect.

Saw it was a Marstons pub and was looking forward to a nice pint of cask Pedigree- no such luck - no pump ale. Also no food on offer. Would not return
